Transfer Embargo, Winding Up Petition & Staff Salary Issues

Ron out? I think we are all agreed he is not the long term future of this club.

Here’s where me and many on here diverge:

1) As I post every time these threads come up show me a credible viable alternative
2) Match protests. Stan’s already pointed out the negativity from a players perspective. Pitch invasions leads to fines and may require extra policing and or stewarding. BT sport may review their Daggers coverage.
3) Not paying tax doesn’t lead to points deductions. Being unable to field a match due to staff strikes or resignations would lead to fines, potential 3 point match awards and further measures.

Whether we like it or not Ron continues to play brinkmanship with the taxman because that seems to be the path of least pain. Cash flow is clearly an issue but amidst all of this he has appointment a strong management and coaching team, a CEO and we continue to attract young talent, mostly due to the team but that still needs to be paid for.

The tax fiasco is damaging, the sponsor withdrawal is reprehensible. The ongoing non payment of staff is disgusting. We’ve seen it before but I’ll start to get worried again when the players and officials don’t get paid. Until then we’ve hit the revolving door again, except this time with a future at our fingertips.

Do you go out and find a buyer for your house before you put it up for sale? The very nature of trying to enforce a sale makes it public knowledge.

It’s an extreme but let’s take Newcastle they were put up for sale and now from that knowledge have new ownership.

We are small fry in the media on the national stage and it takes big statements (like an owner stating intent to sell) to get any traction.

Lastly on credibility neither one of us are qualified to answer that do how can you dismiss it so easily out of hand?

Looks like PG site services have removed the post on Facebook (unless there is a user error on my part which is very possible).

Can anyone else still see it?

This one all seems very odd, very poor statement and all the posts about sponsorship still on their Facebook with pictures etc.

Obviously the situation is far from ideal but it is quite different from what we were facing in October 2020. Just to remind everyone at that time we were facing a winding up order which would have come into effect had not Ron produced at the very last minute a sum just north of one million big ones.
AT the time thought that the end was nigh and was mildly surprised when Ron came through.
Needless to say Ron got little credit for saving SUFC but it would have been easy for him to wash his hands on the club had he wished to do so.
It seems to be well documented that cash flow was going to be a problem September/early October until the end of this month when a decent sum will apparently be coming Ron's way.
While the present economic situation is unpredictable and no doubt will produce casualties Ron's mo has always be putting off paying HMRC as late as possible.
Having Ron as an owner means when he is short he takes time to pay and when he has the funds he muddles through.
Is this any different to what has gone on before?

There was an interesting reply to Chris Phillips on Twitter from Jobson’s son (who incidentally is the Royal Editor at the Evening Standard - who knew?) which seems to indicate that Ron never paid the final third payment for the majority shareholding and so is not therefore the majority shareholder. He says he is the executor for Vic’s estate and is ready to take action.

The plot thickens. Ron still owes money!

Well they have plant over there so they must be.
Sounds to be like they are involved and Ron’s knocked them or then are involved and have been promised the ground works of phase 2 and the works have gone else where you’ve got remember he’s a fan like you or I ( Ron) so will always make the difficult decisions if they are right for us ( like charging us huge consultancy fees for a stadium that won’t be ours we will just rent it from him) seee a difficult decision for him but one I am sure is right… like spending the FAs money thay they give us for our academy and spending it on drainage for his housing development ….. see another decision that is right for the club

Credit for saving us?? That’s like buying some food from Waitrose and just before you leave the door having passed the tills you finally put some money on the floor and pay … the staff don’t have to say ‘ well credit to him for paying ‘

Jeez - how long has he waited to take action. Bizarre

It’s just taken him a few decades to get ready has it? Smells like cobblers to me.

Why would Vic say nothing and walk away without one of his three payments, and leave a clue in his will for his son to find?

Doesn’t sound like Vic he’d never have strolled off into the sunset without every penny he was owed (one way or another).

Stans posts on here from last night have now been deleted…….
If someone with an agenda has hacked PG’s Facebook page then that’s a whole new level of ****housery!

Blimey, this is a right old mess. None of it is painting Ron in a great light. Wonder if there’ll be a club statement rushed out this morning .. you’d hope so.

Worth remembering that more bumps in the road were predicted in September, if all is to be believed it’ll be sorted in October, right?! We’re about to see the answer!

This is turning into a script from Dream Team. Hopefully Arnold doesn’t rock up to training with a shotgun and our young striker doesn’t throw himself off of the east stand roof.
