Tilson's negative tactics cost us 2 points, fact!

So bored of this anti-Tilson bull****

1st Season - Saves us from oblivion, takes us to a Final
2nd Season - Takes us up, takes us to a Final
3rd Season - Wins the league
4th Season - Beats Man Utd, but gets relegated with a L2 team that every single pundit said would come bottom.
5th Season - Forced to sell talismanic top goalscorer, still has us in the playoffs.

Seriously now, how much do you people want from him? He could have burned his bridges and walked off to a host of big teams, but he stays and he works. Sometimes, in my darkest moments, I wish than Alan Little would return just to show you something worth whining about.

Okay, true... but apart from that... what has Steve Tilson done for us?

Slow but steady progress in the right direction, is far better than boom & bust. Do you not think we are not progressing year on year ?

IMO we have the best all-round team for a long long time. Fewer, if any weak links across the whole park ?

I think you may need to recognise irony more readily.

And we had the moral victory. The length of their keepers finger tip kept us from a win, or one/two more revoutions of the ball he partially stopped from David Gowers effort.

Yeah, he must be one of Tillys worst football signings for us. What footballing ability he saw in him is beyond me. :tumbleweed:

I think Tilson has shown loyalty in sticking by the Blues, when I'm sure he had offers to manage at a higher level, I hope you as fans show your support to him by backing him and the team until the end of the season, he has turned your season around and heading in the right direction, hopefully you'll be in the playoffs, but not facing my team Doncater Rovers.

I don't agree Wiggs luv.
The interviewer on the radio asked the question as if we should be down about getting a draw and Tilly as always was being positive and saying the boys got a good result, against what is basically a moneybags club paying the Agogos of this world fortunes.

I always enjoy a Tilly piece on BBC Essex,he never runs our lads down and if we get stuffed he says things like "we weren't at the races today",-excellent!!
Great to hear him struggling to contain his anger on referees and when he's not articulate enough he does wriggle out well in tight situations.

Yep I think Steves a Legend on the Radio... me and my G/F love his interviews And I am very Proud of his Wickford/Essex Roots

As said by other posters elsewhere, I'm of the opinion you're lot will hit the automatics, I think you've got more about you than Carlisle (who are assisted in where they are by their fantastic home form). You want to hope you come 2nd & that Swansea don't collapse (it seems the 2nd placed team from L1 have a solid season in the Championship the following year, e.g. Col Ewe & Blackpool!)

In temrs of Tilly, you are echoing what the majority of sane posters on here have been saying all season. It's just those cranially challenged or delusional only seen the recent successes SUFC fans who seem to doubt the ability of the man!

Dont be silly Les,

We would rather slate the local manager who has been at the club man and boy as his interviews arent great or he cant even beat former European Champions Notts Forest at home.

Bring back the days of Alvin Martin or the other dross we have before Tilly I say. We were really good in those days afterall.

To be fair, Steve Tilson has completely ruined my match-day experience.

Before he came along, I didn't have to worry about buying tickets in advance, I could stroll up 5 minutes before kick-off and have a choice of stands, there would be no queue for refreshments in the ground and the Spread was a lot quieter and so quicker to get served. I had no expectation of winning, only two clubs got relegated into the conference and most of the time that wasn't looking like us.

Tilson then came in and had the temerity to raise expectations and instead of people accepting that we were 15th in the 4th division they are instead whinging about us being only 6th in the 3rd division. People now expect us to outplay (and by outplay, I mean outpass as well as outscore) former European Champions, otherwise they'll race back home and log onto Shrimperzone to start ripping into Tilson. Meanwhile, the attendances are two-three times bigger than they use to be, meaning it takes me longer and longer to get out of Roots Hall. It then takes longer to be served in the pub afterwards. Inflation means that my pint is now a lot more expensive and prices will no doubt go up again now that Tilson is adding a scandalous 4p a pint in additional duty.

What no one has mentioned is that without Steve Tilson bringing sustained success at the Blues, you wouldn't have had a hope in hell getting to Fossetts Farm, and once there you will see bigger crowds and attract better players and the prospect of becoming an established CCC side.

I've witnessed most if not all your pass managers going back to success that Dave Webb brought to the club, I certainly think Tilson is on par with Dave Webb. The rest, well, probably best forgotten.

To quote 'It was a tough game against a team who should be getting promotion this season'. And I make him right.

He is right on that.

He's wrong on "We need to go to Huddersfield and play for a draw". They're like 13th.

i wasnt under the impression that the words he used were, and quote from you, 'we need to go to huddersfield and play for a draw'.

Les our clubs do have something in common we were both nearly destroyed by Steve Wignall then from the ashes of his short reign brought back to life!
