Tilson's negative tactics cost us 2 points, fact!

I wasn't there yesterday, but listened to the game on the radio, and it sounded as though we got on top again after they took Booth off, and replaced him with Beckett. Coincidence or did we just up it ?

No, we just upped it (especially Macca & Bailey, plus the introduction of Barnard!)

To be fair to Wiggy, I agree with a lot of the previous comments re yesterday's tactics!

I was looking at the form guide on the football365 website earlier. It's odd that with these negative tactics we're the top goalscorers in the division over the last eight games.

I wasn't there yesterday but I think wiggy has a point. The main thing we lack in comparison to other top teams is the ability to kill off a game after taking the lead. As mentioned previously, even with yesterday's result, our record is still 17th in the league when we score first but we've scored first 4th most. Our record has been better lately but I just feel we aren't able to close well enough to win the playoffs.

Yeah, but I don't think that's anything to do with tactics. It's more to do with our defensive faults which make us unable to repel sustained spells of pressure (the type of pressure that teams put you under when they are trying to force an equaliser, for example).

Having now actually seen the goal, I think it makes a pretty good case for why it's worth pressing for a second when dominant. Booth's experienced, strong and crafty and gave Clarke a nudge to open up enough space to make his header count. I think that sort of play is always going to cause problems and it's not really poor defending. My point being that at any point in any game, the weaker team can usually get a few corners and with only a one goal lead, we leave ourselves exposed to such a goal.

Still, it's entirely personal discretion. I'm sure there would be an equal and opposite reaction if we'd carried on pushing forwards and got caught out by a quick counter-attack. Personally, I'd prefer my team to maintain ambition for a second.

With the alleged pace of Kanu-Robson and Walker up front, we should be a team suited to playing on the counter and able to pick off teams by sitting back and hitting them on the break.

Ridiculous tactics again yesterday and got away with it. Totally destroyed Huddersfield until we scored, then sat back until they equalised, then got going again to nick it at the end. Why when we are totally on top do we find it impossible to finish teams off?

The point that doesnt seem to sink in Wiggmeister is that its NOT actually a tactic.

What you say is true, we have been dominant in games and then teams have come back at us, but its not like Tilson is actually telling them to take the foot off of the pedal.

It could be confidence/pressure or whatever and it would definitely be nice to kill teams off with the second goal, but the way you talk is that its intentional which is absurd.

Good win beating the 'Udders, now spank the Swans.

Shame your lads didn't prevail at Brighton though.
They're getting a bit too close for comfort for my liking (although I feel Huddersfield might turn them over tomorrow - can't see Ritchie standing for a 3rd dodgy performance on the spin!)

Rovers were the victims to a very dodgy pen, and missed a few good chances, I always thought Brighton was a tough away. You are right 'Udders need the points, and think it will be at least a draw tomorrow.

Evens itself out over a season - hopefully

I would suggest a lot more Huddersfield fans went away with a feeling of being robbed, there is no worse feeling as a supporter when your team loses to a goal in the dying seconds.

We have conceeded our fair share of late goals, Brighton was a good example.

Who really cares about Huddersfield feeling robbed, not the end of the world for them surely and our need is greater than theirs for sure.
