Discord, I certainly agree that Wignell nearly destroyed the Blues by taking you periously close to the Conf, saved in the nick of time by Tilson, at Rovers Wignell didn't actually take Rovers anywhere, it was his successor Dave Penney who got Rovers two promotions, but based on the squad he inherited from Wignell. He is good at finding quality players, but can't motivate or get the best out of them.

While on the subject of taking over from Steve Wignell does anyone recall that fantastic half time interview Webby gave when Ron Martin had obviously sacked him at half time against Canvey?

It was so hillarous with Sky trying to get a comment on the game from Webby and his face was a complete picture coz he wanted to tell them what had happened but could not so all he could say was - Dunno speak to Brushy! for every reply!

For me this was the game that turned the BLues around and RM should be honoured

To be fair (and this thread obviously excepted) Wiggy has tried recently to be more constructive, and her ratings have, it seems, recently been relatively fair.

TTK, however, is the kind of person to buy two lottery tickets, win the jackpot on one, and moan about the other!



Just my opinion of course, I'm sure he's a top person really :)

To be honest, I've never doubted your support of Southend, it just seems that you only post when there's something to moan about. Mind you, I probably only post when things are going well. I guess a lot of it's how we cope with success/failure.

That's fair enough, Tony. But you get stick from people because you rarely seem to give Tilly, Ron or anyone else any credit when they do anything right. If you posted positive comments occasionally then people would probably respect your critical observations more.

Ridiculous tactics again yesterday and got away with it. Totally destroyed Huddersfield until we scored, then sat back until they equalised, then got going again to nick it at the end. Why when we are totally on top do we find it impossible to finish teams off?

Fair play to you and well said. I've often accused you of talking bolleaux, but this is an active messageboard, and we will all hold diverse views, and it would be bloody boring if everyone sang from the same hymn sheet.

I would suggest a lot more Huddersfield fans went away with a feeling of being robbed, there is no worse feeling as a supporter when your team loses to a goal in the dying seconds.

Possibly. But to take your point about apparently "sitting back", most teams when they fall behind start to chase the game as a consequence of being behind. Therefore I think it is more a case of the opposition stepping up their game rather than us sitting back.
