Just out of interest, how sure are people that the hold up is Ron? We are all too quick to make that assumption as far as I can tell because we have rose-tinted glasses on when it comes to the new consortium. What evidence do people have (not precedence) that Ron is the hold-up?
I don’t think we’ve had any evidence, but we have had some of the reasonably ITK folks confirm that the £20M is the issue, with ratty junior looking for legalese that sounds fancy but means sod all and the consortium holding out for stronger guarantees (it was along those lines IIRC).

So we honestly think this is going to Happen

I'm starting to think it's all going to go wrong

No statement from the club

We are close to completion....

It's all just crazy now

The Trust connected members on here have been a bit quieter than usual too. Any thoughts on this @jphfitz or @OldBlueLady ?
Hey mate, whole thing is frustrating and exhausting for everyone. I think the protest group statement is a good example of that too, I think elements are slightly harsh on the consortium but we no doubt need some level of communication to put minds at ease.

As for protests, it certainly won’t do any harm in my opinion. There is no doubt that the delays have been down to the usual tricks of the Rat master and his son.

The Trust are not party to every element of the current position but certainly don’t want to jeopardise the deal in any shape or form by sharing info when asked not to. From what we are told there isn’t cause for concern at the current time but that things change quickly and it’s not to say that may not change, if something was shared that was indicating the deal and the future of Southend United was at risk, this would be shared immediately with the fan base.

It’s frustrating not to be more upfront and really hoping we can move towards a positive future soon.

The way I see it is if they aren't worried, then I don't really need to be.

Thanks JP. So is there any reason why the Trust cant make a short statement to this affect? I agree its not massive news but does offer the fanbase some form of reassurance.

if the protesting has started again probably means something has gone wrong with the takeover.

With all this silence and the rats changing the deal, it reminds me of the kimura takeover
How on earth do you arrive at that conclusion? It could also mean that Rat and Rat junior are stalling (as usual) and discussions are taking longer as a consequence.

I don’t think the protest group are suggesting that they *know* something has gone wrong with the takeover at all.

Rather, hoping to get some clarity on the situation, as updates have been pretty much non-existent since the EGM over 2 weeks ago.

Agree 💯 but unfortunately this type of thinking will spread like the proverbial without some update communication!

Precisely - a few extra consortium members have come on board over the last few weeks.

They are all going to have their own set of requirements.

Buying/selling a house is probably the most complex deal many of us have done and this is done using specialist firms and boilerplate documents and standard terms and conditions.

A bespoke deal involving several counterparties is surely going to take time.

He can't just make stuff up and print it.
I totally agree, just felt it was a little bit strange there wasn't a passing mention not even a nothing more known type of reference. I suppose deep down I was hoping he was saving it all up for a 'big' headline braker this week! Yeah I know two hope's 🤨

Good statement and a nice reminder to those two ****houses (Rat and Rat junior) that he is nowhere near off the hook if he decides to do his usual.

The trust AGM is next Thursday and i believe there will be a Q&A session with Justin. Could be interesting especially if no further news is released re the takeover
The AGM notice says "we hope that Justin Rees will be hosting a Q&A session." I guess that would only happen if the deal had been completed otherwise it could be a very short session. "What's happening Justin?" "Sorry can't answer that."
