SUFC: The Future The Takeover - Very very close.

Our hopes and visions for the rebirth of Southend United, plus any plans published by the consortium for discussion

At the moment I'm nervous of course but not panicking ... yet. The consortium hoped the deal would be completed before the end of the month and we haven't (quite) got there yet. It's been said that Justin doesn't need to be here for it to be completed but I'm sure he'd like to. If he comes over for the Wealdstone game as has been rumoured then a couple of days before that would be a good time for a press conference with JR and his Merry Men ... good publicity .... and of course Ron can make an appearance to say how delighted he is to be doing this for the benefit of the club at considerable cost to himself. So I'm really hoping to see a club statement early next week announcing this presser. If none of this happens then I will start twitching but then hopefully an update will be provided to steady our nerves or otherwise!

After the EGM I recall this guy being identified , I think as Ben Jones, who was handling legal aspects for 'both' sides. Just wondering if anyone has any more info about him? ie is he just involved with the share issue or has a wider brief?

"Ben specialises in corporate restructuring and insolvency. His focus is on situations where businesses are distressed, providing strategic advice to boards and stakeholders."

I think RM would be a very foolish man to cause any more issues at this stage given the strong feelings people have on him and if he were to further use delay tatics then he will deserve everything that can and will be be thrown at him and the people surrounding him.

we are all getting anxious now for this to go through and fingers crossed it will be soon.
would be nice though to have some statement coming out even if it is just for some reassurance

I knew I knew that name from somewhere. I have a good friend who is also a partner at Simmons and Simmons.

I might have to do some digging.

I was intrigued by the reference he is working on behalf of both parties and to what level his involvement might be? Just looking for a positive I suppose, you would hope having the one individual helps experdite the process.
