SUFC: The Future The regeneration of Roots Hall

Our hopes and visions for the rebirth of Southend United, plus any plans published by the consortium for discussion
I still find it absolutely baffling that The Groundsman, underneath the East, still only has one woman behind the bar.

She works incredibly hard, and is doing a fantastic job, however I tried to get a second pint at 2:30 and couldn’t get close to the bar.

They really need a second person. She is doing everything in there by herself. Even having a second person from 2pm, when people are leaving the Blue Boar, The Spread, The Railway, and squeezing another pint in before the match. There is next to zero chance of getting one in.

Or, potentially, pre-pouring pints. They only have Amstel or Cruzcampo on tap, this would speed things up, although I know some people won’t like that idea as the beers will just sit at room temperature for a period of time.

Also, if things are being reported back to the club, the toilets inbetween the Reds and Yellows, the hot water tap on the sink on the right hand side is leaking.

At least you've got hot water. Us in the West have gone without for about 15 years.

Apologises, I’ve not seen it if it has been covered, but the new eating/drinking establishment that was put in, was that accessible for home fans over in the west? If so, what was it like?

Tried to get a snack and drink with the boy at half time but unfortunately had to give up after only getting halfway to the front after 10 minutes! We still missed the second half kick off... I know it was obviously extra busy, but will be tempted to bring in outside stuff next time.

Not on Saturday, it was tantalisingly close but just out of reach on the other side of the closed gates at the back of the West where it leads around behind the North although we did get to have the noisy generators on our side. Hopefully we'll have access to it for the Yeovil game.

A real shame we couldn't have had some better options for the Charlton game, the back of the West was absolutely rammed. Bit of of a missed opportunity in my opinion but perhaps the logistics of doing it in time with everything else going on to get the NB fully operational was just too much.

Walking up the back where the current kiosks are located was a nightmare, even worse for the disabled supporters on crutches and in wheelchairs trying to manoeuvre up and back to their seats/wheelchair spots during half time. Appreciate there's not much we can do at the moment but thought has to be put into pulling down and rebuilding the entire structure at the back of the West to create more space and make it safer for our less abled supporters.

Edited to add that I was disappointed the kiosks in the West closed before the end of normal time, I really needed a drink at the start of extra time so the club lost out on a few quid there.
