SUFC: The Future The regeneration of Roots Hall

It’s not placed on RH but rather on one of Ron’s companies (now of course all transferred to family, in this case Jack to avoid creditors).

I note that it’s certified by a Piers McLaren. It may be coincidence but the company that wound up Martin Dawn was McLaren Construction.
The name is just a coincidence. This will transfer to FF once planning is approved and RH transfers to COSU.

Some peoples' definition of support is unqualified acceptance of everything and anything from the owners and the management team. The more discerning will take a step back and ask questions because they are concerned about the present situation and the future, quite legitimately. This does not mean they are less committed to supporting their team and many will have decades long experience of the ups and downs most clubs undergo. As it most things in life, nothing should be taken at face value and a questioning spirit is essential. Of course it was a relief when a wannabe proprty tycoon with ambitions and delusions beyond his means and capabilities was finally ousted but the direction of travel indicated in the various accounts of the recent CEO meeting gives cause for concern. The priority seems to be spending large sums on redevelopment of an admittedly decrepit stadium rather than promotion back to the EFL, or at least this is the predominant gloss being propounded on the zone, together with the old chestnut, 'sustainabilty'. If this truly is COSU's intention, to turn Roots Hall into a seven days a week entertainments complex while leaving the footballing side to basically take care of itself then the future is indeed bleak for those supporters who long for a return to competing in the EFL. The obvious danger is we end up with the biggest and best stadium in the NL while enduring mid table mediocrity and diminishing support. The NL is a notoriously difficult league to escape from because of the one guaranteed escape route and a lottery. If our sights are truly set on getting out of it by sneaking into the playoffs then the lack of ambition is a rebuff to supporters who have endured so much for so little reward over recent years.

Think the quote by Tom, was something like, in order to provide sustainabililty the Club needs either promotion to the EFL OR the redevelopment of the East Stand. COSU are more than aware that promotion to the EFL also provides the funding to re establish the Academy, thus in time providing yet another income stream. Don't think you need to worry about a lack of ambition from COSU. Just patience.
