I cannot agree with any of the good luck messages that have been posted on here. Why should a player who has not fulfilled the clubs expectations of a player under contract "Good Luck" ?????

I agree that whilst at the club he has put himself in the shop window by his performances on the field. But his attitude and behaviour will not be accepted by any club of a higher level, least of all a Premiershite Club. Both him and his agent must be living in cloud cuckoo land to think any different.

And for those on here that have used the word "legend" and Bilel in the same sentence have not been following the club long enough to understand that he certainly does not fall into that catergory.

By posting the facebook message he obviously is looking for the fans to understand his motives and long term ambitions. He should first understand the motives of Paul Sturrock and the ambitions of the club that gave him the his first chance in English professional football.

If once he has done this he still feels the need to move on then he should go about his business, get on with this trial without any crap facebook statement and allow the club to profit from the talent that he has demonstrated to date.

Let SUFC move on without Bilel Mosni..... the club is more important than him!

Over Ryan Hall who has scored 23 goals over two seasons from the wing? He has also made the most assists in the league twice in a row, 38 overall. Add in that he takes a mean free kick/corner and I think he is definitely in with a shout of playing in the CCC.

For what its worth I believe Bill could play at the top.

Ryan Hall is Probaly our best player, tho i would throw a fit freddy in that catogry,
im surprised no championship/top end league 1 club has been knocking on the door asking about him so far this summer,

with Bilel, on his day he can rival both Hall and Eastwood as our best player, but imo he has too many off days to play Premier League football, but i wish him all the best at his West Ham trial, and hope one day he returns to the club (eastwood esk), and receives a similar welcome to Eastwood........ never know, we may have fossest farm by then

Southend United's Bilel Mohsni wants to play at a higher level and is on trial with W

BILEL Mohsni has revealed he is keen to quit Southend United in order to play at a higher level.

I’m nearly 25 now so I’m not young anymore and I want to try and play as high up as I can.

I could only have another three or four years in the game and I want to do the best that I can during the time.

Try 6 or 7 years. Mad as a bag of badgers.

It would be nice to get a goal and if I do I’ll dedicate it to all the Southend fans because I know they don’t really like Colchester.

Fair enough, even if he is trying to get back in our good books

Good luck to him, if his agent has convinced wet sham he's good enough for a trial then fair play, it'll only be a season before Big Sam is sacked and they are relegated anyway

IIRC Mohsni made his competitive debut against a Premier$hite side and didn't look out of place.

Stan didn't pay his dues in the lower leagues. We were what is now championship when we signed him. He played 30 league games for us before we sold him for millions of pounds.

It's funny that you mention him as I can only think of four Southend players in my 25 years or so of watching Southend who had similar physical attributes of Mohsni: Prior, Cort, Roget and Collymore. Three of them went onto play in the premier$hite, one of them went onto play in the championship.

Eastwood was clearly a great player but he didn't have the aerial or physical ability that Mohsni has.

If he can sort his head out he has every chance of playing premier$hite football.

Stan played in the Conference as a young man and then Crystal Palace reserves.

My point is that both he (and Eastwood) learnt their trade rather than trying to jump from a couple of hot and cold seasons in League 2 to playing in Premiership, where virtually all are used to playing against top players with Bilel's physical attributes and more. Same could be said of (for example) Chris Powell, Dean Austin, Jonathan Hunt, Spinner, Mark Gower, who had been round the block a few times before making the step up. Take Brett Angell as an example who scored goals everywhere before, during and after his time with us, but was totally out of his depth at Everton.

Actually, I would be delighted if Bilel proves me wrong and I wish him all the best.

I wonder if this is a new ploy being tried by some agents to get their players (and themselves( a better deal? In my local paper today it says "Kidderminster Harriers could sell Jamille Matt to the highest bidder after the striker made a mockery of the club by going on trial without permission to Sheffield United. United manager Danny Wilson unwittingly let it slip the big frontman had spent time with his squad. Harriers later confirmed it was without their consent"
Interestingly Harriers had taken up their one-year option to extend the players contract this summer. It also says "disappearing to United indicates Matt is seeking a move but its understood the trial was engineered by his agent Will Salthouse.

As for Moshni presumably if the West Ham deal falls through he will still be contracted to us so he cannot play for anyone else (unless someone bids for him). As he has seemingly burnt his bridges with us, presumably we might loan him out (with a view to a deal) or if we wish to be spiteful we could stop him playing at al for the next twelve months?

That hurts us just as much as him. We lose any protential fee and at very least have to pay 50k for a player to sit in the reserves . If we wanted to do that we wouldnt have let Matt Paterson leave.

Have you read the West Ham forums - they don't appear to be too happy with the thought of signing a League 2 squad player with a questionable attitude - can't say I blame them!

They should be signing far better quality than our Moshni.
