So Moshni will be having a trial this weekend for Wet Spam against the Scum! Anyone gonna go give him some support?
People shouldnt hate moshni for wanting to play a higher level, I will always like Moshni if he stays or go just on the fact that he loved the Southend Fans and showed it alot more than any player in the last 4 years!

I think the speed with which the club activated their option for another year tells us PS knew he wouldn't be here next season.

Am I bothered he won't wear a blues shirt again? A little because when he's head's right he is undoubtedly a great talent, but there's far too many times when thing's arnt working out & you see the temper rising or him going missing & that unfortunately for me outweighs the good.

I cant see him being a sucess in the Premiership, he hasn't the experience of being a professional long enough to make that step. maybe SA is wanting him for a target man, but he'd be woefully out of his depth as a CB in that league. Premiership is too much too soon for Bilel & I think the experience will leave him disillusioned with the game here when he realises he hasn't quite got enough to play at level.

Thanks for the two years Bil, its been the good, the bad & the ugly but all the best for the future..

He will always be a legend....are you serious. Yes he has scored some importent goals, but he will be best known for the tantrums, sending offs, letting the team down by disappearing. To say he is a legend is an insult to the likes of David crown, sir stan collymore, freddy, Chris Powell, Tilly etc he will and should never play for us again.[/QUOTE

I have always been a huge fan of Mohsni but this statement is spot on imo, he could have just come in for pre season and worked hard while letting agents and clubs sort the other business out, what a Tw*T. Actually shows contempt for SUFC IMO

Bilel vs Balotelli. MOTD is gonna be worth watching this season :winking:

I will be amazed if he gets anywhere near the first team , even a crap one like they are , but as you say , that would be an interesting duel.
Juts wonder who would sulk first ?

121 posts , one person says legend , one person says 'maybe a legend' and everyone jumps on the 'his not a legend' as though this was the majority view !

All the info we are getting is from a small piece on the OS ,which is being treated as gospel. His agent has arranged a trial at a premiership club. If his agent is capable of doing this can you really blame Bilel for asking hiim to do it . Who else in our squad could an agent do this for ?

Bilel is putting himself first , hardly a first for a footballer in a short career. It would be interesting to know how many 2nd division footballers get the opportunity of a trial with Premier league clubs ?

If we get a fee for him then Sturrock has done a great job , and everyone who wanted him sacked should remember that. If we really can sell to a premiership of Championship club then the fee would be higher than if we were selling to 1st /2nd division , and he would not play against us when he would be sure to score

Peronally I would love to see him on MOTD and to remind people that he used to play for us and we got xxxx in sell on fees for him which helped us in our own move up the leagues
Good points.
I will miss the rollercoaster ride of having a "Nutter" in the team, but if he goes its with thanks for the entertainment and the fee, disappointment in how it's been handled and F**k you to the C**t of an agent who is one of many I would gladly damage for sticking their nose in the trough.

I used to be a Mohsni fan but this has completely changed my opinion on him. I don't begrudge him wanting to play at a higher level if he's had offers from other clubs but the manner in which he's trying to engineer a move is totally unacceptable. The least he can do is report to training and act professionally until the club grants him permission to speak to someone else. After the loyalty Sturrock, the board and the fans have shown to him despite all the controversy and bust-ups this is a massive stab in the back to all of them. We should just try and get as big a fee as possible and get rid of him because if he doesn't want to be here then he's no use to anyone.

A great talent at League 2 level, but there is a massive difference between being too strong & too good in the air for Barnet and playing against top drawer internationals every week. Lets not forget that even Freddy and Stan only moved to Championship sides after seriously paying their dues in the lower leagues. I worry for Bilel, he is surely getting some very bad advice and may be seriously underestimating the physical and mental demands in Premiership.

IIRC Mohsni made his competitive debut against a Premier$hite side and didn't look out of place.

Stan didn't pay his dues in the lower leagues. We were what is now championship when we signed him. He played 30 league games for us before we sold him for millions of pounds.

It's funny that you mention him as I can only think of four Southend players in my 25 years or so of watching Southend who had similar physical attributes of Mohsni: Prior, Cort, Roget and Collymore. Three of them went onto play in the premier$hite, one of them went onto play in the championship.

Eastwood was clearly a great player but he didn't have the aerial or physical ability that Mohsni has.

If he can sort his head out he has every chance of playing premier$hite football.

He has potential, but never a Premier league player. Never been a fan of his anyway so not particularly bothered that he's on his way out, had way too many chances as it was. Any other of the players acted up like he did and they would be hated. He will be remembered but one thing he certainly isn't is a legend

That certainly is the million dollar question. He didn't manage it with us otherwise we would surely be in League One now and there would probably be bigger clubs than the 'giant' West Ham casting an eye over him.

We all have an opinion on how Moshni has conducted himself in this latest saga..and in my opinion, with a lack of courtesy & respect.

Everyone will also hold an opinion as to how good Moshni is and if he is up to Prem standards?

For me, the guy could not hold down a regular place in a decent Southend United League 2 team. He is inconsistent and I have seen absolutely zero to suggest he can cut it against players of Premiership quality. Yes, he has physical presence but that is not close to enough to hurt Premier opponents or trouble strikers in one of the best leagues on the planet.
Naah, for me a decent squad player in League 2 with potential (if he can get his head together) to play in League 1.
Premier League? Where on earth has that come from??

His behaviour improved with us. It wasn't really an issue for the final 6 months at the club. He'll benefit from a clean start in that respect to lose that baggage that he has at Southend.

The same place a teenage Spencer Prior (who wasn't always a regular either) and a young Leon Cort came from.

It's not just physical presence, it's height combined with leap and it's mobility. He's also far better on the ball than either of those two.

He might not make it, but he has a better chance than any other Southend player, including those who have been first team regulars ahead of him. His ceiling could be as high as premier$hite. Kane Ferdinand's is probably around championship (although I'm wary of limiting him, as I've been wrong on him once already). I suppose Hall and with some luck Leonard and Clohessy could make it to the championship but I'm not convinced they'd necessarily hang around.

They may not reach these limits - most players probably don't live up to their full potential but as Southend fans we've seen enough of the various divisions to have a fair idea where these players should slot in if they fully develop.

Is all about opinions and in my opinion Bilel Moshni lacks one majot attribute...Premiership class ability.

I would suggest Clohessy as the most likely to achieve CCC standard on a consistent basis.

Who care, as Phillip, Barker and Creswell ahead of him in defence, Corr, Freddy, Benyon and Harris ahead of him up front, with Martin, Hall, Hurst and Tomlin ahead of him on the wing, so if we get 300k or more, we should spend it on a young classy central midfielder to make a huge different for us!
