Wasn't Paul Benson a bit of a "late developer"? He's not doing too bad so far. And I guess, in these mercenary times, if West Ham will pay decent money with the intention of "developing" then I, for one, am not complaining.

I just cant help but feel he will be back with us in a couple of weeks time having failed to secure a move at all, then what???

indeed, but it seems he and his agent are making big efforts to get the move without our help, just a thought 'what if' no one wants him

Then he has made himself look rather foolish....

I dont see him as anything other than a squad player here so a move is what is needed, but what team is going to be able to afford him ?

Most teams in League one/two cant afford £200k+ for a player.

This is all going to end up a big mess and he has steered himself right into it.

agree fully although I feel he has probably been 'advised' rather poorly here rather than acting on his own.

Bilel would of been no more than a squad player this year and would of been used from the bench or at times may not of even made it. Hopefully with him playing against Grays he goes and has a blinder then we can get him off the books as soon as possible.

Failing that he can come back and play in the reserves until we get him a move elsewhere. He has been advised poorly and gone about this whole thing the wrong way but with any luck he has a blinder in their pre season game and we get a bigger fee for him.

I can see us maybe getting around £350k

Whatever the rights or wrongs of the situation i don't understand the logic of this thread, a lot of people are saying that he's a squad player at best yet they seem to think he's valued at (insert random figure). If he is not good enough to be in the starting 11 then how is he going to get a move up the ladder to a "better" team and how are we going to get this mythical inflated fee for him?

So many bitter people on here. He is far better than anything Sturrock has brought in or likely to be brought in. Squad player my arse, lets hope he comes back!

What planet are you on?

To be fair, Mohsni would still start for us, whether it be CB, RM, LM, LW, RW or ST. He's just one of those players that can deliver at the right time, hence why Sturrock played him "out of position" on the left. He has so much natural ability that it doesn't matter that he's out of position, we still got 13 or so goals from him. Feel he definately will be missed but also feel that the squad will be more united without him

Hope he's let to rot in the reserves.

If he comes back, and we fail to sign more midfield players, i cant see him on the bench for long, we seem a bit lightweightin this area. This whole afair though has been handled very badly, as others have said if he doesnt get his dream move, and we cant ofload him, i can see another wedding in France coming up.

Ill advised. Pure and simple. Doesn't look good Bill.

Agreed. As has no doubt been said before, this whole scheme of his is misguided at best. Effectively announcing he was leaving the club with nowhere to go to, on the assumption he would automatically play at a higher level is naive to say the least. I do think if he doesn't get the move he wants though he will effectively refuse to play for us again, so we could be seeing the end of his career. Can only assume he has had someone whispering in his ear and unsettling him, probably his agent scenting (hoping for) a big fee. I thought he looked a different player after the January transfer window and said at the time that I thought he wanted out at Christmas - his body language said he didn't want to play for us anymore (yes, I know he scored a hat-trick during that time). Last game summed it up really, ignoring the players and most of the fans to sign autographs in the corner all alone. Shame, but doubt we'll see him again one way or the other.
