I apologise for my age. I really should do something about it. Love, from a cruise liner in Nassau.

"I'm not an antivaxer", say rigrby, then proceeds to post a load of antivaxer bull****.

Risgby, you've been posting this deluded conspiracy theory bull**** since last year. It's no more true now than it was then.

Last year when anyone said there is a plan for vaccine passports and mandatory jabs, they were labeled a dangerous conspiracy theorist and their misinformation must be stopped.

Now anyone opposing passports or mandatory jabs is a dangerous conspiracy theorist and their misinformation must be stopped.

I very much doubt it will be mandatory jabs. Most governments around the world either request you to show your vaccine status (passport if you will) or a negative PCR or LFT.

Just as an aside, where do you get your information from @rigsby? I note from a couple of your posts your not a fan of the usual media outlets (Mainstream Media) so have always wondered where someone gets their information from other than the mainstream media.

At what point does a media source become mainstream?

I would give a decent answer like i did with GBJ but it might be removed by the MODS

* Running out of PCR Test kits.

* Opening up Nightingale Hospitals.

No new restrictions seems odd to me.
They're running out of tests because everyone in the country with a seasonal cold seems to be getting tests - it's almost as if we've forgotten that seasonal colds and flu ever existed! Likewise some people seem to be doing LFTs every single blooming day regardless of whether they're going out and mixing with other people or not. Just show some common sense, please!

Yes they’ll be expecting the NHS to take the fall for what could have been a bad decision for them. But hasn’t that always been the case? Drunkards getting beds on a weekend, people getting treatment for self inflicted illness e.g. type 2 diabetes. I think it comes hand in hand with a national health service.
 Tough comment! I know plenty of people with Type 2 who would say it's not been self inflicted more age related.

Omicron and common cold apparently hard to even distinguish between so no wonder people are queuing up for LFT's.

Yes maybe a little harsh as some people can suffer later in life, my nan definitely does.

But type 2 can definitely be self inflicted through bad diet and lack of exercise, both aspects contribute to maintenance of a healthy blood-glucose level.

Just get on with life - Omicron is a mild strain, all the science seems to back this up, so why are we over reacting (and the Scots and Welsh even more so?). It's utter madness.
Exactly and while we overreact truly ill people (including some people I know) have had their operations delayed and cancelled, leading to a real deterioration of their health. We can't pretend that such overreaction doesn't come with a serious human cost.

One of my best friends lost her husband aged 53 in October, a lump in his throat which SGH had said was benign turned out not to be when he saw a specialist 2 years later in Harley Street after they weren't convinced because the lump was becoming more and more troublesome.

4 days later he was dead of a heart attack after the lump had constricted his throat. She'll never know if he had got the right treatment earlier, if he'd have been alive still. That's just one story I know of, there are many, many more as evidenced in many groups on FB.

Absolutely dreadful story and I hope she has managed to find some peace and strength to carry on in life since.

I saw a story about a 15 year old lad in Wales who needed regular treatment to keep his cancer at bay, his treatment was pulled several times over the last 2 years and now he has a non-operable terminal tumour. Not to mention there could be as many as 750k missed cancer cases due to delays/cancellations of checkups.

These are only a couple of the many people who will be collateral due to the last 2 years of policies. But we will never see the true number of these as we do for the one particular disease we have been fighting for 2 years. Not discounting the impact of C-19 but it's not the only thing that's been killing people.

I fear that our government never stopped to think of the collateral damage.

Sadly cnacer got to a fellow seaso from the East stand a few months back. He was another who didn't want to make a fuss when the NHS were at 'breaking point'.

Having said that headlines that the NHS wont cope this winter have been seen every year for the last decade. Fear mongering is nothing new but its in overdrive at the mo.

Yes but it can also be heriditary. My late father was a Type 2 Diabetic (he was diagnosed as such not long before he died aged 50.All of his three sons (including me the oldest) have also been diagnosed as Type 2 diabetics in late middle age or older.

A genetic predisposition to developing the disease does exist but I was led to believe it's not widespread.

Unfortunately private wealth and public health are inextricably linked
Indeed. That's why I imagine the private company responsible for compulsory government PCR tests in Southend were so quick to reimburse my wife last October when she complained that the company hadn't provided a test result within 12 hours (it took more like 72 hours) as they'd claimed.Crony capitalism indeed.I'm sure when a pulbic enquiry is eventually held into the whole covid affair this is one of the many things that will come out in the wash.
