The Essex CCC Thread

75/2 (150/2 in real terms).

If we can bat the rest of the day for being only 4 or 5 down, I think we could force the win tomorrow...

i've been wanting to put an update up for a while but didn't want to jinx us .. you may now blame BILLERICAY if we go pear shaped from here

Presumably, all going well, we'll set them a pretty impossible target................there again, bowling them out in two sessions ain't goin'a be easy! As I predicted at the start of the day..........a draw now seems even more likely.

229/3 at the close of play a lead of 304 and a second century in the match for Ravi and 90* for Alastair Cook, I reckon another 60/70 before the declaration.

Don't forget Yorkshire chased down 230 odd to beat us in the Pro40 without losing a wicket, i think we'll be a bit more conservative with our declaration to totally ensure we get the draw points first and foremost

I hadn't mate, but it's a 4th day pitch and should be showing signs of wear. I don't see Yorks chasing down 375 (famous last words).

I have just read we have signed Bryce Mcgain...Aussie OAP leg spinner. Watching him bowl against South Africa last year was one of my best test match viewings since Ive been watching the game. Twas great to see the Aussies being proverbally bent over and spanked.....

Oh dear god, isn't he the guy the played one test and went for over 100 in not that many overs?

Where did you hear that? I was told Essex would be signing Mohammed Sami. I guess with the dry weather going for another leggy to replace Danish is logical, but.....
