We missed out more by not being able to do business in May. That is where the likes of York and Barnet made hay. Most Clubs at our level and below contract players until the end of May. Meaning if they were out of contract , then they would not be paid in June. At the very least a level playing field for us this year.So your talking about signing players and how we didn't sign the right ones. And your saying pre season is nothing to do with fitness. I think your missing slightly what pre season means. Pre season is working with the players you have. Gelling into a team and getting fit. Signing players is a different matter. If you sign some players that's great and something you do generally pre season or just after the season has started or in January. In your words - WHAT PART OF THAT DON'T YOU UNDERSTAND.
My fitness point was only pertaining to our situation in particular. Of course fitness matters but you can be super fit and still not have the players needed to mount a challenge. Gelling into a team? The majority of our squad have been through so much together I think they are gelled.....then ungelled with the kensdale scenario. DO I HAVE TO FINISH THIS POST WITH CAPITAL LETTERS WHILE POINTING OUT THE BLEEDING OBVIOUS.So your talking about signing players and how we didn't sign the right ones. Hang on, are you really saying that you'd give up 2 years of paid employment if some people who only see part of your job thinks that someone else could do it slightly better?so in essence what you are saying that if for the next 2 seasons are the same as this and Maher is still here ,we may have another rat family in our midst and im not meaning COSU. bECAUSE I KNOW MYSELF IF I WAS THE MANAGER AND PROFESSED TO LOVE THIS CLUB AND THE RESULTS UNDER MY MANAGEMENT WERE SO BAD I WOULD RESIGN .
Pick up 21 points in next 10 games, we will be right in the race for the play off.
Yes and apparently if we lose on Saturday we will be three points worse off than if we win.we won't be doing so well in the form guide-should we lose or draw at Maidenhead on Sat.
That rather sounds like a statement of the obvious.Yes and apparently if we lose on Saturday we will be three points worse off than if we win.
Before you get too gleeful at that prospect the game that would drop off would be the 2-2 v Forest Green, so a draw would keep us at 18 points from the last 10.we won't be doing so well in the form guide-should we lose or draw at Maidenhead on Sat.
Deary me.That rather sounds like a statement of the obvious.![]()
Form is very good, squad has been strengthened and a real opportunity in February to end up in the play off race. Must be all that boring crab football we play.well we have a few more new faces in the door let’s see how results go in the back end of the season. Theres still a very mathematically possible route to the play offs this year as well as the chance to put a marker down for next season if we don’t quite do it.
SIGNING OFF MY POST IN CAPITALS TO FIT IN, COME ON SOUTHEND
i said if the results were not to my expectations yes i would resign. If you truly love the club as Maher has stated he does then you would only want the best for the club , if i as manager wasnt doing the job i thought i could do yes i would resign .Hang on, are you really saying that you'd give up 2 years of paid employment if some people who only see part of your job thinks that someone else could do it slightly better?
That is a terrible take
You are Dwight Schrute and I claim my £5i said if the results were not to my expectations yes i would resign. If you truly love the club as Maher has stated he does then you would only want the best for the club , if i as manager wasnt doing the job i thought i could do yes i would resign .
Recent form which includes four wins against four of the weakest sides in Ebbsfleet, Braintree, Fylde and Dagenham and two comprehensive losses to two of the strongest, York and Barnet, tells you why we are just midtable mediocrity with a style of football that reinforces that fact. Results over the season will confirm that.Form is very good, squad has been strengthened and a real opportunity in February to end up in the play off race. Halifax 1 Fylde 2. That’s what form stats are all about.Recent form which includes four wins against four of the weakest sides in Ebbsfleet, Braintree, Fylde and Dagenham and two comprehensive losses to two of the strongest, York and Barnet, tells you why we are just midtable mediocrity with a style of football that reinforces that fact. I put it in capitals to hilight your rude comment of my post. Any one who has to say stuff like that has to have it said right back in capitals. Lee Blue quotes "Its not about fitness" and " of course it's about fitness" : -)My fitness point was only pertaining to our situation in particular. P.S. a few players have really fell off performance wise....annoyingly.
