But Sainsburys can start on the store (building situated on the carpark, not the Stadium) without having Pizza Man out of the way. These things could (I'm not saying will) run in parallel.

Doesnt the flats and shops sit right in the way of where the store will be ?

Surely they will need to clear the whole area before beginning ?

I worked for JS in the early eighties at Hornchurch new store, they had a house owner there who wouldn't move, so they built around them , until they buckled.... don't be surprised if they do that here... start the building and play what could be described as ''Construction Chicken''

They dont need to, they have CPO's on the properties? Which makes me wonder why these properties are meant to be the stumbling block at all ?

Add to that they cant start work on the store until Fossetts is complete and I cant see that happening.

I'm not sure I've seen anywhere that the remaining properties are the stumbling block, I think it is changes to the plans, 106's, etc.

And no, the restriction is that they can't move us out of Roots Hall until Fossetts is ready enough for us to play there. The store construction could start at anytime. Wasn't it proposed that the Civic Centre car park would be made available during construction?

I stand to be corrected (yes, not unusual for me) but my understanding is that the footprint of the actual store is on the car park.

Incidentally, CPOs have no explicit fixed timeframe - commonly, yes, they can drag on and often take years as opposed to months, but with the backing of the Local Authority on this project, they can, legally, be pushed to accept compensatory offers to speed up the works.

I read somewhere that the Krays had a good way of getting people to accept CPO's !

Why should anything about tonights meeting be sensitive, We know he is in the klartz and he knows he is in the klartz. It's time for him to start be open and honest about the whole bloody mess and stop all these divide and conquer games and treating the whole bloody world with complete and utter contempt.

I could not disagree more. Fitz is not 'only a supporter ' like us, and I would argue that John is in the same position. As such if they post on here , on on the Trust website a summary that includes that there are certain things that they can not divolge then I will accept that . I dpn't know John or Paul, but their respective positions on here and and for the Trust tell me that they are Southend through and through, and that is enough for me, and I will 'trust' their judgement if they have to report back in riddles to us. Anyone who can not accept that is in my opinion being very immature, or is incapable of trust

Just a point, John is not attending the meeting -- I have that privilege. If anyone thinks we will not ask questions or report back they are wrong.

I am sure Mr Martin will only tell us what he wants us to know and if anyone feels they want more or better answers they are quite able to contact the Chairman and ask him their questions themselves.

Absolutely right Tom, Prospects was the key site. With that levelled, Sainsbury's can easily begin whatever they want to without bothering about the properties fronting on to Victoria Avenue, with direct access from Fairfax Drive. Would you want to live day in day out with a massive superstore development in your back garden?

They wont get much done if the pictures here are anything to go by

Couple of things. Your name suggests united and thats how we should be and be treated. If RM has info to impart he should impart it to the fans. I respect the Trust but they do not represent me or the majority of fans. As for fitz, john, paul, names and people I do not even know, your point went over my head. If anyone of those is TrueBlue then I apologise to him for any misunderstanding as the TB I refereed to was not the one and only TrueBlue but the other TB with a girls name.
We should be encouraging rhetoric that reflects united and when we all come together we will be in a greater position of strength. It is, in my opinion, vital that the core fans of this club unite, even though I believe RM will deliver a new stadium I also believe thats when the real battle begins.

not quite the same, a while back I posted up the time line for CPO's , the process takes more than a couple of months

But that row of shops is only being purchased ro improve the junction which was part of Sainaburys planning permission
The shops do not need to go before sainsbury can start and as such dont need to go before ff can be started

What forum would you suggest though ?

Im sure Ron Martin will make statements over the course of time, but that will be guided by his own agenda and he will be giving only statements on the information he wants to make statements about.

The last Q&A I remember ended up with people spending valuable time asking why Johnny Herd wasnt playing.

By asking what questions people want asking and by the Trust going in with them I cant think of a more focussed way to do it at this stage and a Q&A with both the Trust and Zone represented thats a fair representation of supporters.

If you have other suggestions on how the questions could be asked then by all means make a suggestion.

Looking at the pictures the store is right on the road side though, are you saying the road is going to be widened to where the shops are?

The plans seem to require the shops :
