What forum would you suggest though ?

Im sure Ron Martin will make statements over the course of time, but that will be guided by his own agenda and he will be giving only statements on the information he wants to make statements about.

The last Q&A I remember ended up with people spending valuable time asking why Johnny Herd wasnt playing.

By asking what questions people want asking and by the Trust going in with them I cant think of a more focussed way to do it at this stage and a Q&A with both the Trust and Zone represented thats a fair representation of supporters.

If you have other suggestions on how the questions could be asked then by all means make a suggestion.

Not in dispute with you over this. I do feel it will be an attempted PR job for RM and I hope it does him some good. I also feel it will be pointless but happy if proved wrong.

I agree the chaps/chapesses should go armed with questions raised by the supporters. My point was that I did not agree they should be told anything they cannot publicly impart to all of us. That is divisive. We are all fans.

We do not need an us and them between supporters. I know you and I JamMan have had the occasional spat on here, normally with regard intel, but that's playground stuff. The important task now is to create unity and strength. A united fan base looking to preserve our club.

Saw Ken and Paul a few minutes ago- Ron has them waiting around already!'

Nearly ready to go in I hear.

Nahh TrueBlue is a self centred arrogant fat prick living in a dream world with delusions of grandure and the ego the size of a house..... His name is Scott too.

Couple of things. Your name suggests united and thats how we should be and be treated. If RM has info to impart he should impart it to the fans. I respect the Trust but they do not represent me or the majority of fans. As for fitz, john, paul, names and people I do not even know, your point went over my head. If anyone of those is TrueBlue then I apologise to him for any misunderstanding as the TB I refereed to was not the one and only TrueBlue but the other TB with a girls name.
We should be encouraging rhetoric that reflects united and when we all come together we will be in a greater position of strength. It is, in my opinion, vital that the core fans of this club unite, even though I believe RM will deliver a new stadium I also believe thats when the real battle begins.

Yes, i choose my name very carefully. I have never met the Trust chairman or the owners of this site, but I know that they want whats best for sufc. Following your logic the Trust should also cancel the liason meetings. No one else is saying that this diversive except you. -I amb capable of trust, i dont understand why you are not. No one else seems to think it is a bad idea so we are united except you

Just a point, John is not attending the meeting -- I have that privilege. If anyone thinks we will not ask questions or report back they are wrong.

I am sure Mr Martin will only tell us what he wants us to know and if anyone feels they want more or better answers they are quite able to contact the Chairman and ask him their questions themselves.
Apologies, I should have paid more attention. My point stands though, i have equall faith in you

Meeting finished at 7.45 just in time for kick off . Quite productive and I will put up answers to the questions asked later . Looking to having very regular meetings with Steve Kavanagh, the first when Paul Fitz can fit it in his busy schedule .

Ken, if you thought the meeting as quite productive, I see that as encouraging.

Paul Fitzgerald (Chairman of the Shrimpers Trust) and I met with Ron Martin and Steve Kavanagh tonight and had an interesting chat with introductions out of the way it was down to business.

The club want to engage with fans to obviously encourage higher attendances to increase income and to provide information to the supporters. I explained that many fans felt frustrated with delays, talk of embargoes and the general ignoring of fans with total lack of information.

I explained to RM and SK that the Zone is a platform for fans' opinions, good and bad and we try to use censorship as little as possible hence some threads may not be to the club's liking but as we receive very limited official information our members post their feelings sometimes in a way that would be better if the club had better communication streams.

Paul Fitz outlined the Trust's help regarding the Youth set-up to SK who has only been in his job for 5 days but wishes to liaise with both the Zone and the Trust on a very regular basis starting with further meetings as soon as possible ---- starting a Fan's Forum initially with us and possible expanding with other fans as time goes on.

I asked about an embargo and RM stated that PS had yet to identify and players to bring in on loan and as soon as he does the payments will be made so we can sign players. It seems to me that the Chairman is using the old businessman's theory of getting monies in as soon as possible and paying out when absolutely necessary ---- a necessary action when the cashflow problems are quite serious.

RM said cashflow is a problem for most clubs -- something that can't really be argued with and to that end our monthly losses are currently at £75,000 a month and RM injected £200,000 recently to pay wages and the absolutely important bills and he said the money would be available to pay the Inland Revenue when due. I asked about the High Court Judge stating the club would be wound up if we appeared there again to which RM stated that he felt that that action wouldn't happen. He has more faith in the judicial system than I have.

RM said that the annual losses , he hoped, would be nearer £500,000 this time next year compared to the £900.000 currently.

I asked about a break-even crowd figure but RM said that he didn't have a figure but it would significantly higher than the 6500 figure from a few years ago.

With regard to FF he said he had a hotel chain interested in occupying the premises but felt a casino would not provide a large enough rental income. He did say that things were progressing with regard to FF but such a large development tying in the proposals for RH are hopefully heading to nearer contractual completion and when the revised plans are passed by the Council it shouldn't be too long after all the necessary legal parts are completed work will begin but , he couldn't give a date as quite a lot of things need to fall in place. I asked if Sainsburys had given him a time limit and he said that they were fully on-board for the developments and the purchase of some of the remaining properties in Vic Ave was nearing completion.

I brought up the Mohsni bid from Wet Sham and RM said the initial bid was very low but with add-ons for extras like Prem appearances boosted it up and he felt their bid did not match our valuation so he asked for a higher price but WH obviously didn't want to increase their bid so never came back. RM did say with hindsight it may have been better to have accepted their initial offer. Good old hindsight.

Paul Fitz asked other questions which I am sure he will cover in his report to the Trust.

I will be e-mailing other questions from this thread to SK so he can give us RM's answers at our next meeting which SK wanted for next week but Paul Fitz cannot make it that soon so a meeting will be booked as soon as convenient for all parties.

I felt the meeting was quite productive and a first for the Zone to work in conjunction with the Trust and the club in an ongoing basis.

The meeting ended just as the match was kicking off and we won 2-0. Hoorah !

What a load of crap. Sturrock in his last 5 post match interviews has stated that he is trying & looking to bring in extra bodies. And what about that trialist we were looking at signing but couldn't due to the embargo ?

Does Ron honestly think we're clueless fools ?

Although not on loan, I guess that Sean McAllister saying: And when I get a chance an embargo gets in the way! #justmyluck isn't a player identified...Is that not a player Sturrock we wanted to bring in?

I dont believe him on the point PS hasn't identified players, havn't we got one training with us at this very moment?

I was told that up to Friday no players had been identified and I brought up the tweet only to be told perhaps the player tweeted that as an excuse for not being required. Who am I to argue ?

I find it hard to believe that a player would use that as an excuse.
