Not sure why they would laugh. He's one of the most respected managers in football, has won trophies in several different European leagues and managed two countries at international level.

Came through an agent he had worked with previously. At the moment thats the main route probably- if were are working with an agent who has international reach we might see someone (but more likely on trial as the current team place great store on seeing players for themselves which is much harder if they are based overseas..)

First thing is you can’t sign a contract in principle - it’s signed or it isn’t. You can agree in principle an unsigned contract, or sign a pre-contract agreement or something like that (unlikely at NL level)… Careless wording in the tweet or it’s talking trash. I wonder which it is… we’ll find out soon enough!

A Dagenham fan had posted on Twitter yesterday that there were rumours about him joining them, so I presume this account has taken it from there.

That's the thing. You also don't have to wait until the player's contract expires to announce the signing either, which is what the tweet is suggesting Daggers will do. Mooney and Miley signings were announced by us with the caveat that they won't become Southend players until 1st July, after their current contracts expire on 30th June. Daggers could do the same if they really had signed Wynter.

And then before that was one of the strangest. Spanish trialist Alberto De las Heras.
From the echo at that time.....
The 26-year-old midfielder impressed while training with the Shrimpers in Malaga last week.

And he has now flown over to try and impress Blues boss Phil Brown who is keen to see the Spaniard in action.
“Alberto is with us again and it will be very interesting indeed to see how he can adapt to playing in the English game,” said Brown.
“He’s technically gifted and will very rarely give the ball away.

He came over for one day, and said he felt ignored and not looked after by the manager or the club. (That wouldn't happen under Stan, Kev & co now). He flew back to Spain the next day, Lol.

I'm not sure other people find speech impediments as funny as you do to be honest.
