What position is moodey says winger, but we don't play with wingers,so can he play as a wingback,or do the coaches see him as a striker or attacking midfielder no10?
On the right side of an attacking 3 which we do play, so competition for Powell & Bridge

Play as an attacking 3 in 3-4-3, or support attacker behind 2 front players in a 3-5-2.

That’s not true though and you don’t know our strategy. My point is we aren’t gonna achieve what we need to simply by picking up younger players from the lower leagues. I’m not saying go for Sheffield Uniteds best player but I imagine we still have a bigger budget than at least 12 teams in league 2 and a handful in league 1 so we should be able to take some of their players who are in the 23-29 age bracket at times.
To be fair I think the strategy is fairly clear given the players we have gone out and picked up from this league and below under the new Management . With 18 going out and some of those on higher salaries it should enable us to keep Wolfie from the door, along with any extra sponsorship, TV money , the £3m to be distributed from the National League, via the Premier league the ? £500k in parachute payments ( reduced by half this year?)and maybe some solid season ticket sales?

However I think you are right, if we are careful, there is a balance to be made. The majority of teams that make it out of this league have invested , not always costing a bomb, in players from league one and two ,to utilise their experience from a higher level and balance out against a tranche of younger and less experienced professionals

Be interesting to see if we follow suite at some point, but if history tells us anything then we should

For me, the best opposition player I saw us come up against last season.
Seriously? Now I mean no offence but I don’t even recall him playing! So I can’t believe anyone genuinely believes him to be the best player they’ve seen at RH this season.

I hope these comments are true and he was this unbelievable player I totally missed but I think we may be getting a little carried away.

Yes, I admit I am guessing as to our strategy.
I would also guess that even if our budget is among the top six in the NL will it be enough to sign players meeting your description? I will guess again and assume if we are not signing decent players from the FL it is because we cannot afford it, and, not out of prejudice.

Whatever the "strategy" is I would hope that if the "right player" with League experience became available (even if the player is "on their way down") that the club would give the position some thought - perhaps even get out the club pencil & the back of the (strategy) envelope & make some scribbles.

Totally changed the game for altrincham in the away game. Massive threat when he came as a sub

There are similar comments to this on Twitter, and from the usual culprits. Just because you don't notice an opposition player, doesn't mean nobody else does, does it? You only notice opposition players in the EFL because playing against them every season makes them more recognisable. You notice them more. It's recognition bias. The likes of Dan Mooney are well-known at this level to clubs who are constant presences here, but less recognisable to many of us because it's our first season at this level. I also suspect many fans subconsciously ignore opposition players at this level because in the backs of their minds they feel we're too big for this division and won't be here for long.

Here are the facts:
  1. Mooney looked a cut above against us.
  2. He scored 13 goals for a mid-table team.
  3. He has been constantly raved about on numerous dedicated non-league social media accounts and podcasts.
  4. He is in most of the VNL Teams of the Season that I've seen so far.
  5. Members of our highly-qualified football department, led by a man who knows what it takes to get out of this division well enough to have done it a record three times, have watched him extensively this season and saw fit to make him one of our prime targets.

That's more than enough to get me excited. There has been EFL interest in him. We got in there early and convinced him to come here. The rest of the division will see it as a statement signing. Just take the win.

In fairness he's talking about the away game
