Wonder if the club still keep an eye on Nathan Bishop for the future. Heard he's done well on loan from Man U at mansfield along with Stephen McLaughlin who are both going to wembley. His loans due to end though.

Would we describe Powell as a striker. I see him more as a winger than a striker. If he can work on his crossing, decision making he can be a real asset. Also depends on what formation we plan to play
I do too, i say striker but i meant forward player as he is shown on the website

Southend now in advanced discussions with Louis Lomas - done a bit of research on him and looks like he would be a good signing. Already been mentioned in this thread.

An ever present in a team that conceded 23 goals in 42 games, with 28 clean sheets. Other clubs sniffing about though...

We don't play with wingers? And Powell isn't a wing back, nor is Bridge or nor would be Mooney. But they all have goals in their locker and it seems to me ideal in a front three- so would imagine that's where Mooney would go- I guess in a front three you will often have a winger/forward with an eye for goal and it seems to me he fits that bill..

Yep, would like to see us move for him. Another I like the look of is Connor Johnson at Kettering.

Not traditional wingers no, but would be nice to have the personnel to enable us to be flexible and to play with them if we feel we need to.

Agree- I guess either the the wingbacks could play there or the likes of Mooney/Powell/Bridge dependent on whether you wanted more going forward or defensively- so you get that option almost by default I think..

Seems Murombedzi has played wing back quite a bit in his career so far, only moving to CM last season, so would provide cover there too.

Wouldn't be surprised if we were looking at a 3-4-3 system next season which will provide 2 wide forwards either side of a traditional no.9.

Our best football in the season just gone was played in this system.

As such a couple of wide forwards/wingers wouldn't go amiss.

Finally given in to signing up on here. Give me a follow on Twitter fellow shrimpers: https://twitter.com/londonshrimper

Just been sent this post: been raving about Lomas all season. Definitely one destined for big things in the Football League - a real gem in non-league. Really hoping we do sign him.

Told Still is in talks with those at Dagenham about signing Joey Jones, although Grimsby are after him as well.
