Pages and pages and pages of Lopata. It’s all becoming a bit tiresome now, it’s clear that it’s not going to happen. He’s too good for this level, he’s locked in a contract dispute with his club which means that only one of two things will happen; (1) he’ll sign an extension and Sheffield U will most likely want to loan him to another club at a higher level or (2) he’ll hold out until his contract expires next summer, in which case he belongs on a Summer Rumours 2023 thread.

The obligatory highlights video... from Hyde's 20/21 season with Halifax (no. 9 shirt).

Clearly relies a lot on quality crosses, which worries me a bit as we haven't been great recently in this department, and I have seen too many crow killing balls in recent years. This said could be a great foil for Mooney.

Yes he will join a football league club. Unless we are a football league club in 2023 don't bother. No chance a polish under 21 international will join a non league club

It’s not over until it’s confirmed to be over.

Edit: I’d just like to add, this isn’t me clinging on to wanting us to sign Lopata, it’s well documented we have been in the race for Kasper and we still well are, so until there is confirmation from somewhere that it’s an absolute no go, or the window comes to a close, we’re still in for him.

Frecking umbargo, some new players injured and now Dalby going. What’s next is the tax man calling again.
After all the changes at the club last 12 months we was starting to go forward. But just last few days we have gone backwards, this is draining the new found enthusiasm out of me .

With you there, until he signs for someone else or he confirms he’s not going anywhere, there is almost the slimmest of slim chances that he could return.

Whilst Kevs ideal might be more towards permanent signings than loans, we do have a Management team very capable of bringing in higher talent than we have been used to in the loan market

Lopata, Brunt and Neil, not bad examples

Crystal Palace under 23s showed some class youngsters and thats just one team

Over the recent seasons loan players have been crucial to success and goal scoring in particular

Sutton United promotion bid was much down to young player of the year Isaac Olafe, Was on loan for 2 seasons running, scored critical goals to ensure their promotion, Year one on loan 14 goals from 37 appearances, , promotion year 8 goals in 27 games

Luke Armstrong on loan to Hartlepool, key to their success 13 goals in 28 appearances, Andy Dallas 12 goals in 25 appearances on loan, Kyle Wooten on loan 9 goals in half season loan

Loan players can be key to getting out of this league and are out there

It has been like that this summer, hasn't it? ...... and possibly even since Brown went.

It's the enthusiasm & hope that is the problem

Heard/seen numerous quotes saying that Hyde doesnt want to come to us. If so where does that leave the deal. We ask for a bigger fee To compensate not getting a replacement from them and get one or two in this week if possible? From where I’m not sure

I wonder if Paul Mc Cullum at Daggers is a little bit bored, after 2 years up of his 3 year contract. Maybe on good wages given Daggers have some money, but so will we have from selling Dalby

Similar situation for him to Dalby with just a year left on his contract. 6.3" striker with a very impressive record. 165 appearancies for Daggers, Solihull and Eastleigh, knocking in 81 goals, nearly 1 every other game, 77 goals in 38 for Daggers

Is there something we dont like about him,?

Isn't he essentially the same type of player as Hyde?

Dalby has a different approach to the game, his replacement doesn't need to be a tall strong target man because despite appearances Dalby isn't

I think it's because we needed a number 9 before Dalby's imminent departure became apparent. Dalby was being made to play that number 9 role as we had no one else. As others have said, Dalby was best suited as the inside right player of the front three. He had no chance of playing that role with Mooney there this year.

A number 9 was/is needed irrespective of Dalby's transfer.

I don't think we have any chance of Mccullum though.

Some similarities no doubt, but younger, bigger, and higher goal-scoring return in recent times and less injury prone

Looking back to June/July 2021 there were many posts about Hyde being the sort of striker we needed and that we couldn’t match Wrexham on transfer fee or wages.

Does anyone know whether it was simply that or maybe Hyde didn’t want to join us last season? Or was he close to signing?

Probably got a better £££ deal at Wrexham

thats the problem ,with Wrexham offering such ridiculous wages for a team in the VNL ,why would Hyde want to leave to go to another club for less money ,hes better off staying where he is even if hes just used as a bench warmer , ,hes 32 years old ,im sure he realises that when his contract is up hes not going to get anywhere near what hes earning at present.

If the club or kevin feel a 32 year old id the answer .Why ditch the old gard .And then back track and bring in one just as old .Just does not make sence to me .
