Maybe the video of Rooney's slide tackle is just an indication what Lopata wants to do to the owners of Sheffield.

I've tried to stay quite close to this via the Blades Forum, and the majority view there is that the Club really rate the bloke and see him having a future with them. They (Fans or Club) don't think he is yet ready for Championship football and thus another loan is on the cards probably to an FL1 or FL2 side. For that to happen they want him to commit to a new contract as an insurance cover should he leave given his age. His biggest beef was being recalled and then not being used at all.

We are just observers on the edge of this with no chance of seeing him in a Southend shirt any time soon. Personal opinion obviously.
I think we'd be mad not to make him captain. Doesn't matter how old he is or where he plays. A leader is a leader, and Kacper Łopata is a leader. And an organiser. Very vocal. You only have to watch him for a few mins to see it. Poland U21 captain too, for good reason. I'd be putting the armband straight on him. There are no other stand-out candidates in the squad for it IMO
Kacper was not even captain of sheff Utd u23.Neil was and he's a year younger than lopata make what you want of that.

Apart from Rhys Murphy if he was fit.

I make nothing of that, everyone works differently in different teams, Lopata was the biggest impact in ours in terms of organisation and being loud in general, so I would have absolutely no problem in him being our captain, we all saw how much we fell off in form and organisation when he was recalled.

I’d say (on the basis of no real knowledge) that someone is close, may sign today and we’ll probably see it on the OS tomorrow afternoon. Just guesses!
