Wasn’t it last week he got the green light by reading that ?now Ron is a free man surely the frozen bank accounts can be unfrozen? If there’s any money in them of course
I think he's a good player and would be a great addition.6 figures seems steep for him even though I think he looks decent.
No, not really, if the deal isn't done SUFC have other targets and will go for them and Kelly could be stuck at MUFC.To be honest, Kelly could do a Spence and say no & hold out for Southend move, to show Devonshire that he won’t get bullied into an move he don’t want to.
now thats somthing i would like to see it would make greedy Devonshire a real prat .No, not really, if the deal isn't done SUFC have other targets and will go for them and Kelly could be stuck at MUFC.
That would be a good thing as he could run down his contract, become a free agent for 2023/4 season and get a big signing on fee with MUFC getting zilch.

Or Ron could sell his BentleyIt's not the valuation, it's that Maidenhead want all or at least most money, up front. Solihull can meet that requirement. We have to pull a rabbit out of the bag.
This is madness, a 6 figure sum for a player who has had one good season to move to another conference side, which in all likelihood won't be the biggest transfer fee in this division this summer.
That's the reason for the constant financial overreaching and embargoes and late paid wages, people expect our club to be at a certain level but we simply can't afford to play there any more.
Sheer lunacy, it's supposed to be a game
Solihull possible as well.
you put an E on the end of Cod
It's quite clear that they don't want to sell and lose their best player.
If it were our player we would all be moaning the poaching club we're taking the ****.
I suppose the best scenario from Southend's standpoint might be for Josh Kelly to turn down Solihull and indicate he is willing to stay at Maidenhead unless he can join a club that works for him. This is unlikely. Kelly will drastically increase his salary by going to Solihull and professional football is a short career. But he knows Southend are very interested. And if he rules out a move to Solihull, he puts some pressure on Maidenhead. Kelly is in the last year of his contract and Maidenhead may or may not get better offers for him later in the season. This scenario is unlikely but it is nevertheless possible. Why is Devonshire greedy and a prat?
It’s not him wanting more money. The Club wanted a bigger “up front” fee from us, not a larger fee in total.
I’ll pluck figures out of the air here, THEY ARE NOT CORRECT. Let’s say they want £100k and we’ve offered £10K up front, and the rest over the duration of Kelly’s contract, which is how a lot of deals are structured (which is the same with signing on fees by the way). They might want £75k up front from us, and just £10K from Solihull Moors because we have a bad reputation, and have been late with paying things like this previously.
They aren’t demanding £150k from us and £100k from Solihull Moors. It’s also above Devonshire’s head as opposed to him making these demands. We did mention about paying a “larger transfer fee” overall (say £125k in this made up scenario) but keeping that initial investment (£10k in this scenario) the same. That was never an official bid from us, more a “what about if we did this”.
As I say, these are just random figures, but hopefully that makes anything potentially “grey” from what I said initially a little bit clearer.
Quite. But it would effectively cost Maidenhead £100k (the money forfeited) to have him for just an additional year. Quite a sum for them too. So if Kelly played hard ball I think Maidenhead would, well it’s not even really cutting there losses is it as the total fee is the same. No, not really, if the deal isn't done SUFC have other targets and will go for them and Kelly could be stuck at MUFC.
