Unless he’s already signed on the dotted line for someone else then I wouldn’t write it off just yet. A lot can change in football in a very small space of time. Just ask Omar Mussa…

If we get 1500 every home games, you and others would be saying we only have same budget as Weymouth, Chelmsford City & Havant & Waterloo & not a cat in hell of signing an NL goal scorer.

Location is the keys in an forward decision, I think players wouldn’t fancies driving staying in an digs up north, when they can still live in their own place & only travel on M25 to Southend for similar wages.

Seems odd you are suddenly saying this when it’s been mentioned on here for weeks now. I note also Chris Phillips has been very careful about what he has or hasn’t published and normally when he does regarding transfers it normally ends pretty well.

Chris might have only just been told officially that we are in for him, and that's why he posted the story. Definitely does not mean that @Magnum PI is wrong. Perhaps the financial issues recently have bitten us and the club in question would rather not now deal with us? You know our reputation has really taken a battering when one Sunday league team would rather accept a lower offer from another Sunday league team than do business with us.

No of course not. Im more interested to hear from the regular ITK about the situ. If he goes elsewhere then so beit, least we are trying to sign the right type of players rather than those built on past reputations and past its

Ron does not always have the cash available to match his ambitions and/or obligations. As the neither the Sultan of Brunei, Bill Gates or George Soros has so far displayed the slightest interest in Southend United this is something we have to live with.
On the one hand we can scapegoat Ron for sometimes being short of readies but an alternative view might to be thankful he always comes through (so far at least).
Yes we were under an embargo (again) and we are not now. If past performance is anything to go by we might well be again sometime in the future, or, even near future.
While I would never suggest this is an ideal state of affairs we are by no means the only club in the Football League and National League under the fairly constant threat of embargo (or actually under one). What this seems to mean is that a club is close to being, but, not actually, skint.
In the circumstances I try to be a glass half full sort of guy. A club under embargo is awful for sure but in my eyes it is much much better than no club at all.
