A midfielder that wants to pass forward... Is that what they look like? It's been so long!
Was very poor when we played Barnet away last season,They where probably the worst team I saw,And for us to want another player from that side, as we have already sign Taylor,Not for me.

To say he divides opinion is a bit of an understatement going by that. Some think he’s bang average and can’t wait to see the back of him and others think he’s gem who is suffering from loss of form and confidence.

If he’s an arm round the shoulder kind of player and hasn’t been getting that, maybe he’s lost some confidence. His agent touting him around the Netherlands to get him out of compensation at Barnet was interesting too. Sounds like his heart isn’t in Barnet anymore which might also be a reason for his form dipping.

On paper I feel like it’s a risk I wouldn’t want to take, especially with a fee likely to be involved. But I trust Kev, Darren and Still. Interestingly he turns 25 this Saturday, so does that mean any fee won’t be bound by EPPP and therefore potentially cheaper?

I wonder if he’s the type who’ll look a proper player in a good team, moving the ball well and with players on his wavelength but may struggle with lesser players. You could say the same about our manager.

A few mentions of Mason-Clark in that Barnet thread also. He’s someone I’d be keen on as well.

So you want 3 players from one of the worst sides in the league last season and then expect us to get in to the top 7.No thanks not for me, but if our back room say that's what they want then that's fine with me.

Looks very good on the ball, skilful, aware and self assured. Anyone know how good he is off it? Would he be more like Husin and carry his weight or a Nathan Ferguson?
From the Barnet fans thread it seems he’s very much along the lines of a Nathan Ferguson, technically good, capable of the spectacular but goes missing and not one to depend upon in a midfield two.

I can’t really see how this would work in the middle of our 3-4-3 but they mentioned him playing wide left which may make more sense, though I don’t think we need any more wingers and could loan in some competition there.

Would be an underwhelming signing on the face of it but in Maher, Currie & Still we trust.

The 'divided opinion' debate will always rage.
Probably a majority on here would be negative towards Mohsni and Wordsworth , and whilst I do understand the negatives in terms of team output , to me they were the most exciting and pro active midfielders I've watched for us in recent years.
Not sure if anyone has betean either 'midfield' goal tally recently ( and that's with Mohsni playing a large percentage of games at the back ) - his home hat trick v Barnet and away performance at Northampton will live long.

1. We were one of the worst teams in the division for the first half of the season. We’ve retained more than 3 players from that side which was for a long while below even Barnet in the table! Not many are complaining about retaining Arnold, Ralph, Clifford, Murphy etc.
2. They were also in the Barnet side that Currie had in the play-offs in 2020, so we know they can play at a high level.
3. Both Mason-Clark and Fonguck are at a great age where their best football is ahead of them but they now have the experience behind them as well. Both should be poised to kick on now and should benefit from a fresh start.
4. Barnet was toxic last season. IIRC their players were threatened with the sack just before our game if they striked in support of their captain, when he was suspended over complaining that racism allegations against a Barnet staff member weren’t investigated. Plenty would benefit from escaping that environment.

Good point made re players looking to better themselves. For A long time 12 month contracts was the norm in the non leagues as both clubs and players lived hand to mouth. Now clubs with the finance and ambition look to tie players into at least 2 year deals.
