Either way, Weymouth come out of this very badly and I just wonder what the hell Mussa makes of all of this.
I'm no conspiracy theorist but if resentment is harboured from when we took Molesley and Goodship off them, then I suspect that there was pleasure taken in screwing us over on this occasion. A little bit of "revenge" in their eyes, perhaps.

We will wait and see, but for what it’s worth personally I do believe Mussa was the imminent signing and also that he’s actually now signed for Daggers. Hopefully this week we will find out either way.

What I would say is that if the reason boils down to a few extra quid for Weymouth, and if Mussa had indeed trained with us then it would seem that it’s firmly not Mussa who has caused the issue here but Weymouth. To let him come here and train, then pull the rug out from under him for the promise of a few extra quid (not even a big amount, by all accounts) is pretty damning from Weymouth.

The only other thing to add is that if we were given a chance to match it, and decided not to (who can blame us given how far down the tracks we were - the club probably couldn’t believe Weymouth would switch at such a late stage with him already training with us) then either we didn’t on principle or because we felt he wasn’t worth the extra dosh. Probably the former I’d think, or that we were never given a chance.

Either way, Weymouth come out of this very badly and I just wonder what the hell Mussa makes of all of this.

Definitely not (IMO, for what I can work out right now) one where he deserves being booed when he turns up in a Daggers shirt.
From what I’ve been told Mussa had decided to leave Weymouth to sign for us, but has in fact changed his mind and signed for Dagenham

That’s not Weymouths fault but Mussa had a choice of us or Dagenhan but seems as if he’s decided to join them or maybe his agents decided for him as that seems to happen a lot

Friday I was told he was joining us
Saturday I was told Dagenham
So today he will probably sign for Notts County 😂

I’d be interested to the information other ITK have about this (not that I don’t believe the other information) as I’m just intrigued to see if all the stars align here. I’d expect so but it’s just odd how that can switch from taking photos and signing to going to a different club, as I’m pretty sure they sign the contract before they take the photos.

Young professional footballers with little life experience are often asked to make big decisions at short notice. Perhaps, if anything, it is surprising this sort of scenario does not play out more often.

I’m sure you were told that in all innocence, but the only people who know for sure are the money folks at Weymouth - and they are unlikely to be telling anyone that they caused the issue.

In the scenario where Mussa made this decision then he came to us, trained and had his pictures taken - then decided something In our setup, staff, teammates or other was so awful he suddenly decided he’d rather go to Dagenham even for no extra money for him - but ‘joy of joys’ his old club Weymouth might one day make a couple of extra quid….

Sorry, but that just does not make any sense, no matter what your mate has told you (I’m sure in all innocence, believing what they were told).

As others have said let’s wait and see. There was good authority that he was training with us last week, signed for us and also had photos etc. I was also told by someone close to Weymouth that confirmed he has signed for us. Would be surprised if all these ITK people have got it wrong. If so we move onto the next target, our business so far was been ex Lee at so must have faith that they will find the right player whether that be Mussa or not. Also not convinced by comments made by rival fans on here.
It doesn’t matter how ITK anyone is, it’s a volatile and constantly changing transfer market. Things can happen even at the very last minute after all appears to be done. That’s not any ITK persons fault, that’s football. But until that contract is signed, paperwork signed off by the NL, any payments and clauses agreed upon and completed and finally mug shots are on the OS. No deal is done, done as we’ve learned here. Very frustrating, but I’m sure the football dept will already be looking at alternatives from their extensive list.

Either way it’s hard to take players choosing Dagenham over us. That’s not me be Billy big boots, but facts are historically we have been and still are a bigger club arguably with a better chance of promotion. However, over the past few seasons Daggers have clearly built a decent side, 8~0 in aggregate against us last season and are in a better place financially So if able to pay more for or offer more to players then that’s where we are at. As I said earlier we’ve made some cracking siginings so far and trust the management that 2 or 3 more will follow whether Mussa is one or not

Yep fair comment

So, we move on….

Who’s this rumoured striker then? We’ve heard that it’s not Josh Kelly, it’s not Paul McCallum, it’s not Michael Cheek and it’s highly unlikely to be Alfie Rutherford given what we’ve heard about medical reasons / insurance.

So who is it? Any guesses?

If we can't financially beat Daggers for a Weymouth player, I very much doubt it will be a name we've heard of like the ones you've posted.

Josh Umerah would have been a good addition. 17 goals last year for Wealdstone. Has a year left on his contract though. A few League clubs are thought to be interested too. Again, maybe out of our financial reach.

Who said he’s had pics taken etc? As surely that doesn’t happen until he’s signed for us? Fingers crossed he has

I’m only going off what I’ve been told by 1 current Weymouth staff member & 1 ex member of staff

It’s not hard to take at all, they’re not rivals and they’re just another club in the National League, couldn’t care less if they get players over us.

Obviously it's frustrating to lose any prospective signing at the last minute but I concur, I'm no more disappointed that he signed for Dagenham than if he had signed for Notts County or (say) Torquay.

The way some posters on SZ get so irritated by Dagenham and the mere suggestion that their fans see us as rivals does make it appear that in these people's minds there is indeed a rivalry. It's all very reminiscent of people's attitudes to Borient when we first started playing them regularly again in the late 90s.

On the last bit, if the leadership at the club wanted him given all the DD that we know has been done - then that’s good enough for me and clearly they felt he had an important part to play.

That he was here training tells me he thought the same.

Weymouth seem to be a bit of a shambles as a club at the moment, with some financial issues. Daggers appear to have taken advantage and Weymouth have shafted us and Mussa for a few extra pennies.
Mussa would have rejected them?! But he didn’t. Even Nottingham Forest offer more millions than Spurs in their bid for Spence, yet it’s the player refused to join any club, as he have 1 club he want to go, which is Spurs.

Stuff happens all the time right up until the dotted line is signed. If it happens, it happens, if not, so what? We have other targets I'm sure.

How much of a say does the player get in these scenarios when he is contracted but being sold?

Deals brake down all the time, could be about money, but also could be something like he wanted a guarantee that he would start most match, who know we just have to trust the coaches and theback room.

He has either signed for us or he never actually signed and hence can go to Dagenham.

If he actually signed then the deal would have been agreed with Weymouth prior. If then Weymouth received a higher offer and tried to back track our CEO has the perfect professional background to deal with that scenario. In this instance all will go very quiet for a few days.

It seems to me nobody know the facts for sure..

It appears we have been well and truly gazumped, happens all the time, we will just have to move on and look at other options we have in the pipeline which I am sure we are already doing.

It happens all the time but normally behind closed doors, but due to the excellent insider info from ITK members on ShrimperZone we do sometimes get to here snippets and rumours about what is going on behind the scenes at the club.

Normally the first supporters get to hear and know about new signings is when it is all done and dusted and the club announce them on their OS or Twitter accounts.
