Mussa or Messa that is the question, who knows what money gets thrown at agents to sway a deal, we really don't need to return to desperation signings now do we ? Keep the faith trust the process if it's meant to be it will happen with any future targets, if not a few loans where needed ! Good to go so onwards and hopefully upwards .

I heard yesterday that he's off to Daggers instead. Seems we both offered £20k transfer fee but Dagenham won via sell-on %. Not sure whether we decided not to match or better the sell-on or whether we weren't given an opportunity to. Bit scummy from the agent and Weymouth if the latter. If the former then disappointing, but it's business and we move on and I support the club taling a stand and not being messed around if they were previously under the impression that an agreement in SUFC's favour was already in place. Little bit amateurish to let him train with us and take photos before everything was finalised, but then we don't know what the agent and Weymouth were telling the club. Obviously the club felt that it was an absolutely done deal. Odd one.

Ah well. We move on.

Think it best to just wait and see lol . Some we win some we lose on targets 🤞

We will wait and see, but for what it’s worth personally I do believe Mussa was the imminent signing and also that he’s actually now signed for Daggers. Hopefully this week we will find out either way.

What I would say is that if the reason boils down to a few extra quid for Weymouth, and if Mussa had indeed trained with us then it would seem that it’s firmly not Mussa who has caused the issue here but Weymouth. To let him come here and train, then pull the rug out from under him for the promise of a few extra quid (not even a big amount, by all accounts) is pretty damning from Weymouth.

The only other thing to add is that if we were given a chance to match it, and decided not to (who can blame us given how far down the tracks we were - the club probably couldn’t believe Weymouth would switch at such a late stage with him already training with us) then either we didn’t on principle or because we felt he wasn’t worth the extra dosh. Probably the former I’d think, or that we were never given a chance.

Either way, Weymouth come out of this very badly and I just wonder what the hell Mussa makes of all of this.

Definitely not (IMO, for what I can work out right now) one where he deserves being booed when he turns up in a Daggers shirt.

If he has signed for Dagenham after being with us for a couple of days then it’s a very strange situation. BUT, should we really have been trying to spend £20k on a player right now? Especially one that probably wouldn’t be in the first choice XI?

On the last bit, if the leadership at the club wanted him given all the DD that we know has been done - then that’s good enough for me and clearly they felt he had an important part to play.

That he was here training tells me he thought the same.

Weymouth seem to be a bit of a shambles as a club at the moment, with some financial issues. Daggers appear to have taken advantage and Weymouth have shafted us and Mussa for a few extra pennies.

As others have said let’s wait and see. There was good authority that he was training with us last week, signed for us and also had photos etc. I was also told by someone close to Weymouth that confirmed he has signed for us. Would be surprised if all these ITK people have got it wrong. If so we move onto the next target, our business so far was been ex Lee at so must have faith that they will find the right player whether that be Mussa or not. Also not convinced by comments made by rival fans on here.

Just trust TL. If the club feels he's worth it then that's cool in my book, and we are not paying full fees up front. If the signings of Husin, Cardwell and Powell are anything to go by then we are structuring any fees that we agree and paying them in installments. Which is good business imo.

Perhaps the suggestion that Weymouth had forgiven Ron for the MM saga was a little premature?

Indeed. It’s all so weird a small part of me thinks he might yet be our player.

However too many people with real connections seem to be hearing he’s gone to Daggers for it to not be true, for me.

Looking at the Weymouth fans forum it seems the club is a bit of a shambles at the moment, financially and otherwise.

We’re in no position to crow of course but reading between the lines I don’t think any of this really has anything to do with Southend or any of our past or current behaviour.
