Moussa is a done deal for us, completed today but can’t announce until FA reopen Monday to complete his registration. I’ve even seen his first interview video before anyone starts it’s fake news etc. We were prepared to pay a higher fee (£20k plus add on’s) to muff than the other interested clubs.

But equally, Simply Shrimpers is also another account that chucks names out. As said, you throw enough ****, and some will stick.

According to them, we signed Sam Smart (Was never a target) and Shep (We know the story there). They have since deleted the tweets.

They put up the Lomas story, after it was on here, and claim to be the first to break that news as well.

I’ve found, other the years, CP is usually very well informed and then it’s a collection of ITK people on here. There are no accurate Twitter accounts “breaking” transfer rumours for our level, on when we were in the Football League to be fair.

There should be good news next week once again, and we are still in talks (which are progressing nicely) with a striker which I mentioned previously.

Should the striker, and the “good news” come to fruition, and assuming those out of contract put pen to paper (and with them starting pre-season with us, that looks promising) I think the squad will be 95% done.

Loans to fill in gaps as and when required as well, I.e. injuries/loss of form/suspensions etc.

Get down! Great news if we can get both rumours over the line.

York signed up Lennell John-Lewis I wouldn’t bee overly concerned.

Yeah York have lost basically their entire squad. They've made some decent signings but they're having to recruit a whole new team.

As for the Mussa/Notts Co/Dagenham/Southend debate, it's not necessarily a case of 'why would he turn down Notts Co/Southend for Dagenham'. If he's Dagenham's number 1 target, and a priority position for them, whereas Notts Co have other positions they need to prioritise, the contract offer will probably reflect that. It's not as simple as they are bigger so he will definitely sign for them. Look at Ben Wynter. Barnet must have absolutely pulled out all the stops there, possibly because they recognise that position as a real weak point from last year.

Money talks, it doesn't matter if you get a few extra thousand through the gate at this level. Our fans place far too much importance on that.

Just watched Omar Mussa's highlight's reel. Looks very skilful and very good on the ball. I know Youtube highlights pick out the very best bits but there are bits of skill there I haven't seen at Roots Hall from any player in years. I am guessing there are serious weaknesses off the ball for him to be playing down at this level. Hopefully we've identified this as potential improvements, if indeed he is the target.

Omar Mussa is 21 years old, he has not fallen down anywhere, if anything, he ignited/started his career at a young age in National League.

We should care who they are because we are here to support them, there are fans here who look into players, like to see their skills, their talents, their highlight reals, whether we're in Non-League or not. We're not a Premier League team signing elite talents, we're Southend United trying to find gems in the league below or our own so we can fight and get promoted.

It was a very weird post with a weird attitude, just like your own.

We're not privy to scholars of the game telling us about the plethora of players in our orbit. The problem before with us was signing players on their way down, but hey we knew them so of course we'd be excited until they spent 6 months out because they're broken.

Now it's about unearthed gems. We need to trust the recruitment process. Stan was an unknown back in the day, he came good. Let's just hope the next Stan comes our way now and pushes us forward.

YES. There's a team of recruitment specialists involved. We should trust them and just get on with everything else in life. Deep diving the life of a non league footballer is borderline weird unless you're in the employ of an organisation with a vested interest.
