Oh the teases aye 2 good signings
With the link with Currie as well i was slightly surprised he was released. he scores goals at this level and had a horrible injury through no fault of his own. Would be happy if he was offered a short term deal as again would offer something a little differentI believe Akinola is training with us I’m unsure if it’s just fitness or not though.

A rework on expectations factoring in all the new signings? It would save you from earning your living Spiffy. What to do with ourselves on this thread today? We don’t have any good leads on page 1 to discuss to death any more
It’s less today being a deadline and more it being the first opportunity to put pen to paper in person. The agents will have hopefully agreed terms and instead of dragging the player in from his holiday they’ll say pop into the office after training to sign when you’re back on Wednesday.I wonder if that is what they were waiting for, set today as decision day on whether they agree to the contract, and can speak to other clubs if they need/want to
I’ve never done that in the past and have no intention of starting now!A rework on expectations factoring in all the new signings? It would save you from earning your living Spiffy.
Yeah, your loss is our gain there. He is arguably the best thing to happen to SUFC in several years and Kevin Maher has 100% trust in him. The army of scouts and the breadth of the scouting operation that he brings are invaluable and it has completely turned around the club's recruitment. Not just in terms of the profile of player we're targeting (young, hungry and on their way up as opposed to 31, 32 years old + and on their way down), but also in terms of the way the club is going about the entire process - we're now scouting players early and thoroughly, having them watched at least 3 times and usually by 3 different people, getting character references, approaching agents early to get to the front of the queue, dealing professionally with their club if we need to. We've never seen the club run like this before. Only problem is being on edge wondering whether they're going to be given the tools to do their job or when the rug is going to pulled out from underneath them by the Chairman.Very John Still signings, he was probably your best signing the last year since relegation. Hopefully McMahon will come good ( I have my doubts) after he refused to let John become director of football here hence why he went to you guys as he wanting a wage not scout type payment structure.
Perhaps that changes if we continue with the 343 (all be it maybe its more flexible with different personnel). Probably in a front three that would be ideal.Very much doubt he would be offered a deal. Sim sees himself as a 9, DC thinks he’s a wide player.
Of course we shouldn't underplay the importance of Kev being named manager here. I suspect JS relationship with Kev made us far more attractive than would be the case otherwise. Perfect timing all round.Yeah, your loss is our gain there. He is arguably the best thing to happen to SUFC in several years and Kevin Maher has 100% trust in him. Oh absolutely, I don't think he'd have left Daggers if Kev hadn't asked him to come here.Of course we shouldn't underplay the importance of Kev being named manager here. I suspect JS relationship with Kev made us far more attractive than would be the case otherwise. Perfect timing all round.
Just thinking back to @BoyWonder2 saying that we are speaking to a Striker with experience and goals at this level, could it be Sim Akinola? Technically not our player and a free agent, scored 15 goals in the 19/20 season at this level under Currie. I for one thought he was a little ray of positivity in the relegation season under Molesley before injuries kicked in so would welcome a short term deal if he is fit enough post injury. With the link with Currie as well i was slightly surprised he was released. he scores goals at this level and had a horrible injury through no fault of his own. If memory serves, he actually looked better wide, than up the middle when Molsely was here.Very much doubt he would be offered a deal. Sim sees himself as a 9, DC thinks he’s a wide player.

HOWEVER, Sim is in the house for pre-season training. Who knows??? He's been given a set of the new training kit so as others have said above, he may be on a "see how you do in pre-season and you could get a deal until January"...
Win win situation in my eyes.If nothing else, he will come away with a souvenir t-shirt, like those summer soccer camps I did when I was a kid
