Now the real question is that Ron Martin is pulling the wool over the fans .Many weeks ago he put the club up for sale .Or did he this is the question on thevfan base .We know that no new statments will be made for the present time .But as it is said empty vessles make the most noise .And the only thing for sure is the only empty vessles is Ron martins wallet and broken words . Ilike most really do hoope some one will come in and rescue the club .

Do you work in social media for our sponsor per chance?

I’m not sure. It’s a valid point of view.
But a cash injection would help the building work so I think it’s about raising capital rather than a publicity stunt

But said empty vessel won’t be making any noise, so not sure how that works….

Reading the last few days of posts on here has gave me some hope, we may find a buyer to save us, buying the whole project FF development and the club,. makes sense to anyone with deep pockets and hopefully WILL invest big into our club, we love and take us back into the league.

Let's not kid ourselves we nearly got 7,500 crowd last Saturday , just imagine , New owners and some investment into the stadium and Team , we see 10,000 plus with a sniff of success even as a non league club.
Hate to say it, but didn't get 10k whilst in Championship, with a team we can only dream of nowadays

Times have changed. Attendances are up the length and breadth of the country. If we can get 8000 on a cold midweek in February against Bromley in the NL (ok some youngsters tickets were reduced price) then we could very definitely get at around that week in week our next season with proper, pucker new owners. If we were in Fossetts you could add a couple of thousand more to that - more if we moved up the leagues.

A sustained period at that level rather than just the one season would probably see the attendances creep up.

Let's also not forget that Roots Hall was a ****hole even then, God love it. We have a lot of competition from the London Premier League clubs and their shiny stadia in terms of engaging the local younger fanbase. With a new, clean, modern facility which offers a better overall match day experience, you might get more local parents choosing to bring their kids to watch Southend regularly rather than what many of them are doing st the moment, which is making 2 or 3 trips per season to a London club and watching Sky Sports at home the rest of the time.

also think big help would be if west ham got relegated , every season i pray they are going down, but again they have pulled out of the bag this season. Its astonishing to see how many take train to stratford and would they do that playing rotherham on a tuesday
night we need to compete with that market as well

Mate we are big enough city to not need to worry about West Ham a sustained period of success will turn young London supporting fans into shrimpers … whether you all like it or not success breeds fans
