I'd imagine it will be something along the lines of are we gonna be in a position to play games come the start of the season and where the clubs at, if there not satisfied then either we are out or a points deduction
If we can’t play the games a points deduction is pretty meaningless. They might as well just kick us out.

This was covered by the Echo at the start of the summer: https://www.echo-news.co.uk/sport/2...confirm-rule-around-southend-uniteds-embargo/

"The National League have now told Echosport that teams can kick off a campaign under an embargo as long as they have a license."

It's not an issue with the Winding-Up Petition or the embargo in itself. The National League were hours - or maybe even minutes - away from applying for our license to be revoked in May when it required that the club's outstanding accounts were filed by the end of that month (this was covered in the reports from the validation order court hearing). It was clear from the club statement at the start of June that there was pressure to meet not just obligations under the Winding-Up Petition but those to football creditors (which includes club employees), which would be a stipulation of the league, and that is what they will be considering, given that there are still reportedly staff wages outstanding in addition to the Winding-Up Petition.

Ta. Guess I get frustrated with the statements that were gonna get thrown out the league, points deductions etc etc. When the reality seems to be that no one knows, because the 'rules' that the NL follow aren't prescriptive. So whilst we may suffer some kind of penalty no one knows for certain what it will be or when it may occur.

I guess Anna Firth and the trust reps at the nl meeting may know more but neither are talking publicly in any detail, so hard to know.

Maybe I'm a horrendously naive optimist, but it doesn't seem too crazy to foresee that NL will give a short deadline, forcing a quick sale and suddenly we are back on track, albeit a few weeks behind where we would like to be and of course emotionally knackered

'NOO' you are ITK that they aren't involved or 'NOO' you hope they are not? What happened to anyone but Martin?
Having had past experience of this firm and knowing others who have had even more, any involvement of this lot would be out of the frying pan, into the fire with bloody great brass knobs on.

And I have never been in the "anyone" but Ron camp, more like the "be careful what you wish for" caravan.

Matt, my comments are based on intel from that meeting. I don’t know for certain as things change and we don’t know what line Ron has tried with the NL.

I don’t think they will be falling for his rubbish though, think they see through him.

That's good to hear.

These organisations are good at sticking their heads in the sand when it suits. And vague regulations are good ones if they can do whatever they want.

You would think they have noticed the players can't even train, no pre season, water to training ground cut off, no friendlies happening, staff not paid for months, no medical staff and, therefore, think letting us start the season with this still being the case would be a no-no...

The other issue is that a squad starting competitive games with no pre-season will carry risk for the players- hamstrings, calves, injuries will abound in a small squad.

So I would be surprised if we weren't given a short deadline of some description, but not very. Don't forget the FA were keen to have a standard contract where clubs didn't have to continue paying injured players- so I don't think they like much the concept of player welfare...or indeed contracts generally..
