At the time it was to safeguard some payments to club employees. It was in good faith as they were supporting them as is their remit. Since of course it seems RM has shat on them too but he did say it would be paid back by August. The figure involved is the life blood of The Trust and would take years to replace. If RM renegades on his promise to it will not come as a shock to most of us.
Without any PG the trust have lent the money to the club and not to RM I would imagine the only way they’ll ever get it back now is if the new owner takes on the debt. In hindsight they would’ve been better off just setting up an account that the staff in need could access and gift /lend them the money

Trevor you have only picked out the criticism and overlooked the praise I have given the trust.
I am a life member of the trust and have been for over 20 years.
Regarding the £40k it would have been quite easy for the trust committee to have a members vote online and a very quick result.
I do now hope the Trust committee have fully realised the full extent of the actions of Mr Martin and like Tom Brown's schooldays are holding Martin's backside to the fire rather than tickling his tummy!
Caught between the devil and the deep blue sea here aren't we my friend. I understand the logic of being more hardline, though I have my doubts as to whether the outcome would be any better if the Trust bared more teeth. My personal opinion is that the Trust have helped us all in contributing so that we still have a football club to support as things stand right now. Every supporter is anxious/bereft/depressed about the current situation, but the blame exclusively rests on the Chairman's shoulders. He's the one that's used our club as a vehicle for his own personal gain. He's the one that's taken us to the edge of oblivion.

The club will not be wound up on July 12th nor in the days, weeks and months thereafter . In fact its true destiny is back in the EFL and that is the direction of travel when we have resolved current problems . Could someone please tell LordFootball to put his plans back in the cupboard and lock it up. There is no horse called '' Phoenix '' riding in this race .
“Direction of travel”
Interesting phrase, trying to remember the last time I saw someone use it …… 😀

So surely that means capacity must at least match Roots Hall? The new plans for FF suggest initial capacity is less?
That’s where the lawyers argue on the definition of ‘equivalent or better standard’.
I thought there was an explicit clause stating that the capacity had to be at least the same as RH?

There is a number of seats stated in the conditions - it's very clear. The new phase 1 proposal does not meet that condition. I suspect the plan is to apply for an amendment when the time comes. I raised this point when the planning application was made.
