Yes, but it's down to Kimura to decide when that is. They could be close to it, or that moment could be some way away. We have no idea what's happening behind the scenes and who is now waiting on who.

We’re likely now waiting not on DD but resolving issues raised during DD. Amending the reps and warranties, negotiating an escrow, getting third parties’ consent etc.

A lot will depend on whether Kimura are buying a built or unbuilt stadium. The former will require a lot more contractual negotiations as you will need to agree what exactly is to be built and to what specifications.

Har har har! We all like a giggle but this is a bit far fetched.

Absolutely zero chance of this in reality. New bidding entrants are well out of time. Nobody serious would have waited all this time to be known, when at this late stage there is zero - absolutely zero - chance of starting the process and completing DD before the club and Ron are kaput.

Being @GBJ’s devils avocado for a moment though If any aspect of this post had even a feint glimmer of truth, it would almost certainly be a pathetic last minute effort from Ron to suggest he has options - but other than belly laughs it’s not likely to be taken seriously.

IMO it would be better described as buying the land and some plans. There is (and theoretically still might never be) a stadium on that land.

I don’t know what they are buying, but as regards Fossetts the above is what exists to be bought as far as I can tell.

Given their experiences in this process, I can’t imagine for one moment that any buyer would agree to any arrangement that requires future engagement with Ron or his associates.

This is just my thoughts, not something I’ve spoken to anyone about specifically.

“If their bid for Southend is successful, the Kimura group will become the new majority owners of the club, its training ground and the new stadium Martin has been trying to build for the duration of his time in charge.”

That's the most likely reason for a DD delay. Along several other major hurdles, like renting RH when could be condemned at any moment and dealing with two separate councils etc.

It was lot easier to take over Oldham and even the likes of Man U compared to SUFC.
