I wonder what all the doom mongers on here are going to whinge about first after we are taken over? Constantly the same people banging the same negative drum and it is getting ****ing boring. These sales take time, there will be bumps in the road but we will get there.

Been quiet the last few days as there's been no monumental changes. DD is reported to be well underway and I'm led to believe both sides remain positive. Clearly you can't rule out some Ron-related shenanigans, but he needs this to happen more than anyone.

I completely understand the frustration/anxiety that people have about our football club. We all desperately want the management and squad to stay together, for the unsung heroes behind the scenes to be paid what they're due (and more) and for the conversation to centre on kit speculation and which 9th tier superstar we should be signing. It's my belief that we will get there and, when we do, it'll be all the sweeter. Keep the faith.

We know that NDAs have been signed and we know that Ron is selling a football club that doesn't own its assets. As such this an extremely complicated deal with many legal parties (even if they are all owned by Ron, ultimately) and so this was ALWAYS going to take time.

Southend United is a pair of (wired) headphones that Ron has had in his pocket for 25 years. Now someone wants to buy us and we're completely tangled up but ultimately it comes down to this: Ron wants to sell and Kimura/ISM want to buy. The competitive and legal deadlines are looming so this will get done.

Anyone who has bought or sold a house will know that no matter what agreements are made when the sale is agreed, a million and one things will happen on the roller coaster from that point to exchange, and then another roller coaster until completion. It is frustrating, annoying, long winded and frankly hideous. the whole back and forth, getting half answers that raise more questions, the things that p** you off. That list is endless.

Dealing with all that c*** is bad enough, so a complex transaction of football club, land, stadium, WUOs and threats of being chucked out of the league, plus the endless piles of bones and skeletons that are no doubt emerging from Rons web during this process is likely to be dizzying at best, so a continuous stream of calming messages to the fan base at this point is probably bottom of the agenda of all concerned.

We all know Ron's form, so no surprises that there is radio silence from the club. We know what we need to know at this stage.

Its confirmed a sale has been agreed, DD is underway, and it is not far away from being done. Ron needs it done asap, and Kimura (or whoever) are professional enough from what I can see to do what needs to be done as soon as possible.


the way I see it there are 2 choices. We either jump up and down demanding answers like naughty toddlers, or we a bit more grown up and wait for due process and the announcement in a couple of weeks time.

(BTW, not ITK, I just have a pragmatic business head on and I know that emotional tantrums really wont help!)

Ron has up till 12th of July to sell up, he obviously playing the game similar to the glazers..... Will Kimura want to play the long game or will they pull out? I guess it comes down to how badly they want to buy Southend.

Don’t take it personally,

Consider it another way, maybe @Cricko has heard something that may or may not be conducive to the takeover happening and this is his way of venting?

Maybe it’s a way of telling people that, actually, things aren’t as hunky dory as they seem and we all need to temper our expectations a bit?

Maybe it’s a way of saying.. or asking… what exactly is going on, why haven’t the club confirmed X or why haven’t the club confirmed Y? Why are we being kept in the dark again when so much of this is already out in the open?

Maybe it’s an attempt to stoke a conversation that the club will hopefully respond to?

Or maybe @Cricko has been affected by the heat and/or lost his space at the sunny window of the old folks home, so he’s on a wind up.

Either way, there’s been some decent insight on this thread, mixed with plenty of crazy speculation and supposition. Essentially we’ll know when we know, and until then there’s going to be lots more twists and turns from people ITK, anonymous Twitter accounts and those who have heard something from a friend of a friend of someone. Let’s not turn on one another.

Some times hard truths are exactly that, hard to swallow....We have no idea of the outcome and as you said it's my way of letting people know all is not done and dusted yet.

But the 12th July is an extension from our last court date. Highly doubt it would come to it, but I’m pretty certain there won’t be anymore extensions.
