@Cricko can you elaborate at all on what you are saying? I can only assume you have heard something bad has happened.

Everyone was excited about it going ahead yesterday so they are freaking out about it not going ahead today. Tomorrow they’ll be getting excited again. The day after they’ll be freaking out again.

These things take time. Ron needs to sell (do we know what happened in his winding up orders yet?), Kimura want to buy, the NL want Ron to sell, HMRC want to be paid which is most likely to happen if Ron sells. If Kimura are good for the money (and there’s no reason to suggest they aren’t) this will get done.

Takeovers are frustrating. Everyone is tired and wants it done yesterday. Molehills become mountains and then molehills again.

Hoefully our future owners are concentrating on what matters rather than fretting on press announcements.

We’ve got probably several more weeks of this.

I don't think it has helped with people saying "it's close" or "it's 95% done". It has gotten people's hopes and expectations up when the reality is we'll likely still be waiting on 11th July

Nothing bad, just nothing really good.. It might be i am impatient but there is no concrete evidence that anything is happening....RM will play games until the end and Kimura will be his toy.

Based on this update, was it really necessary to make a new thread and change the title of this one to create panic?

I am hoping that doing the above is overreacting rather than being something worse that you have heard but not yet shared.

Would you kindly share what that 'more to it' refers to because your post has certainly spread some pessimism. I'm sure it's justified and your information is correct, but it would be nice to know what information you have to prevent further erratic assumptions from many posters. Thanks.

Not sure about that mate... I doubt Ron has many games left to play and certainly doesn't hold any trump cards. As far as I can see it, he is in a lose-lose position unless this goes through pdq.

I don't think any delay will be down to him.

Ron and the clubs communication hasn’t exactly been his strong point, ever. Especially in the past few seasons.

For now, the wind is blowing in the right direction, but you do have to wonder how long for.

The thing is it is close. After decades(!) of Ron Martin, we’re weeks away from new ownership.

If the deal is 95% there that is superb news. Deals that are 95% done almost always get over the line. But don’t expect the final 5% to be done in a couple of days. The final bit needs to be ironed out. Details worked out, documented, refined. Bits renegotiated. And there will be bumps along the way. This is all in the usual course of business but will be painful to follow here as every minor obstacle gets blown into a major drama. This will be why Ron isn’t giving blow by blow updates. I suspect our new ownership group will learn this lesson in time as well.

But close was never going to mean days as several pointed out at the time. Various people who have been there and done that said DD takes longer. They have been proved right and yet people still chose to listen to those who thought it might be wrapped up a week or two ago.

There will likely be at least two occasions where the deal seems to be falling apart before it all comes back together again. Try and stay even-keeled.

Agreed fully. People are worried as it is.. let's just take a step back. Work is being done on the pitch, the club sign a deal with a new ticketing system and media bits. The club are still talking to players and getting them to agree to contracts in principle. Please relax, there is nothing anyone here can do but wait! As hard as it is!

But didn't we know all of that anyway? The club never communicate. That's another reason we want Ron gone. He also stated that we would know nothing until the deal was done in his original press conference. We know that there a ridiculous amount of hurdles to clear, there were always going to be plenty where our club and Ron are concerned.
