Ihave said it once before the take over may take a little longer than we hoped In the national leauge it seemes to be an open market with no window .So this season takes us a while to adapt to a new leader ship .Did wrexham go straght up wwhen the yanks took over .No they did not .So fans must have a little faith .That things will come good in the end .

I think the 21/22 season started late August, the 21st. Season starts 5th August this year - so that'd be the equivalent of signing first week of July this year.
Correct but that is still 3-4 weeks away from now. We will lose on some targets, we will sign others instead. Some will be worse, some will not.

It’s astonishing in all the years I went to games and drank in pubs home and away with my fellow Southend supporters and I never knew so many of them were experts in corporate law, takeovers, DD and non disclosure agreements 😉

(With apologies for my sarcasm to the few who actually do have genuine expertise)
But @Ron Manager you did spend a lot of time with me & @BEERMONSTER who were only really experts in beer & pick'n'mix. 🤣🤣

Weren’t Swansea the villains that year for some reason?
This was Sturrock’s second season. The villains that year were very much Crawley who spent loads of money and then Steve Evans accused us of doing the same with no real substance to back it up.

We had Liam Dickinson up front who got injured against Crawley in a 0-0 draw if I remember correctly and it was a big loss. This was also Ryan Hall’s star season.

That’s it 😊 thanks

Those that are saying we will monster the league need to see a phychiatrist im afraid, my thinking is the two favourites will be Chesterfield and Oldham, then there are a number of clubs in the mix for the playoffs , apart from us. B/Wood, Bromley, Gatehead, Woking, Easleigh, Barnet,, to name a few, thats 8 clubs apart from us ive named, I also expect Aldershot to improve considerably ,bring in the teams that were promoted, i do believe at least one of them has money to spend and this is looking like a very competitive league. The only injustice i see is that the EFL did not make it a 3 up 3 down promotion and relegation with league 2. add Solihull to that list also.

Bottom line, with RM still here bills aren't getting paid, office staff aren't getting paid and Kev isn't able to prepare anything like his rival managers are.

Number one priority therefore is getting Ron gone. If a few more weeks are needed to get this deal over the line, so be it. Without it, none of the above gets fixed.

Short term pain, long term gain. Let's get him gone, get the staff paid, bills paid and embargo removed and see what magic Kev can conjure...

This.

Next season is a success for me if we're not relegated, staff and players are paid on time....every month. No winding up orders, no embargoes to hinder recruitment. Maybe a little bit of money sprinkled on repairs at Roots Hall.

If the takeover had gone through a few weeks ago, my expectations would be a little higher.

After so many years of Rons nonsense, this is how low the bar has been set for me.

With all this talk of squad strength I think people are getting ahead of themselves.

We are still on a knife edge. Until the sale is officially completed it could collapse. If that happens it seems likely we will cease to exist. This should be the only focus of concern at the moment. Worry about what kind of season we could have once we can relax in the knowledge our future is secure. This is not the case yet

Add to that, all those other clubs can sign players which is something we've not been able to do since pretty much the beginning of last season. By the time we're able to, apart from 1 or 2 exceptions, we'll be scrapping for the leftovers.

However, that also depends on the management team's powers of persuasion. If they can convince targets not to sign for anyone until our takeover happens then we might have a chance. It also depends on how risk averse the player in question is.

If we're talking about HMRC debt, do they care who pays it off as long as they get it?
It wasnt the HMRC debt it was investment in other things i think, the whole Derby thing was a real mess but I am sure either Rooney r the new respective owner put one y in to pay something or other and it was investigated as it was against the rules or something
