To be honest, as much as I'd like promotion next season, I'm not going to be devastated with next season being mid-table mediocrity due to a late start to preparations if it means we have a stable, Ron Martin-less club and a clean slate. Spoke about this with @Smiffy today - if it means they find every dead body buried underneath Roots Hall, then the DD can take a bit longer.

The priority is getting rid of the rat.
My heart says go away, but my head agrees.

the dream scenario would be Kimura paying off the embargo whilst still doing their DD etc. That way Kev can start sorting out players whilst the last few minor details are getting finalised.
(I said DREAM scenario before anyone starts shooting me down 😁)
It would be the dream but are they allowed too? Am sure Derby had issues around something similar to this when Rooney was in charge

I feel like next season is about rebuilding trust and the reputation of the club. Trust that; staff, and players get paid on time, trust that creditors are paid on time, and trust from the fans that things are being done to improve the results, squad, match day experience, and the club as a whole.

From that our reputation will begin to be repaired, with new owners and a new vision that should help to attract new talent, new commercial opportunities, and new fans.

Good things come to those who wait.

I don't know of any dates, but I've heard whispers of a bond being requested from the club by the National League. Trying to do a bit of digging to find out if it's true, so don't take my word on it, but it wouldn't be a shock as there is precedent for it and it is very much by their book. Gateshead had to pay one of £200k in 2018/19 in order to be allowed to compete in the NL.

If true and £200k+ is the amount, you'd have to question where that is coming from without new ownership.
I believe every club has to pay a bond, not 100% sure though.

Providing we keep who Kev wants to keep, and he has time to add some quality improving us further, why should we be miles behind? Wrexham and Notts have gone? Nobody coming down to be scared of, and more often than not the first season is a struggle. Chesterfield will be strong, but who else should accept/expect to be miles ahead of us?
Oldham will be a force next season. Went through their own ownership change I believe and finished the season strongly. In many ways they’ll be the biggest club in the NL next season. If we’re not hampered by embargoes or other restrictions I’d say we should be around the top 3 with Oldham and Chesterfield. But there’s always one or two others who are unexpectedly strong, like Woking last season, plus Bromley & Borehamwood are usually up there. But we need the takeover to go through soon if we’re going to have a chance next season.

Time is not on our side this takeover needs to get done ASAP as we approach the last few weeks of June we will lose out on targets
As there is no window in the leauge we are in there will be plenty of time to get players in .But yes it would be nice to be able to compet with the rest .

Those consistently saying if the takeover isn't completed by X date means the seasons a write off just need to take a breath.

We have been minutes away 3 times in the last 6 months from going bust and having no club at all.

We need to move away from the, we should be getting promoted mentality.

Try a different view.

If and its a big if, the takeover happens, it'll set us up for the next decade.

Potentially a team and more importantly a club we can be proud of.

Improved engagement, facilties and hopefully team, means so much more than rushing this with a view to maybe getting in the playoffs this year.

Yes, it's a shame we are not in a position to be in the mix with signings at the moment.

But perpetually posting on here, oh that's it. Seasons gonna be a write off, is missing the bigger picture.

I came on here to say pretty much this.

This guy gets it. We will be more than good enough to survive whenever the takeover happens, and if it's Oldham that we're worried about, then we have no worries.

But the best players will have been snapped up by then.
Not for ever. There’s some great names being touted and thats whetting some of our appetites, naturally. It would be disappointing to potentially not have that season next year if it was at any point a possibility, but the main objective by far is exorcising the demons at the club. As long as he goes and his dodgy arrangements are swept away, there’s always next year.

I was really talking about this season.

I know, and I spent my whole response answering that point. If we miss out, we miss out. By next year I meant next season, i.e.the one coming. I use the terms interchangeably but I agree one is clearer.

If we miss out on players this summer and don’t have ‘that season’ next season but the one after, it’s disappointing but **** happens. If we are taken over late we can try our best but there’s always the following season. If we are not taken over there will not be a this season never mind a following season.

If the buyers do have a few quid, they can always choose to sign some players for cash or get in some good loanees.

I think the reason I want it done quickly is for the anxiety. I dread to think what happens if it doesn’t get done.

Let's just get this rat gone first and hopefully the club will be stable position to progress forward...... all this talk about signing players just feels secondary currently.
