Add to that, all those other clubs can sign players which is something we've not been able to do since pretty much the beginning of last season. By the time we're able to, apart from 1 or 2 exceptions, we'll be scrapping for the leftovers.

However, that also depends on the management team's powers of persuasion. If they can convince targets not to sign for anyone until our takeover happens then we might have a chance. It also depends on how risk averse the player in question is.
I’m sure if a player wants to come and play for maher at Southend knowing the take over is happening they will wait, don’t forget the new owners have been at roots hall so I’m Sure Kevin will have been told what their plans are and type of budget he will have when it goes through as I’m sure they don’t want the 3 amigos to leave plus already some players have left the club

Did wrexham go straght up wwhen the yanks took over .No they did not .So fans must have a little faith .That things will come good in the end .
To be fair, they bought Wrexham in the February, then went up the following season. So they did go up in their first full season, and in a season in which they were able to prepare fully at the start.

The investment the new owners will bring will be insane… you honestly won’t be disappointed don’t give up on this season coming…
We will have to wait and see won't we.

As it stands it looks like they will be borrowing the money to do anything and we have no idea if or when it would need to be repaid. That needs to be cleared up first.

I don't think that's anything to do with us anymore, is it?
Not directly I suppose, since he removed Martin Dawn as a person of significant control in RHL and SEL. Probably wouldn't be too far wide of the mark though to assume that those changes were made because he knew these problems lay ahead, and all four of these companies are still parts of the web of companies that he has woven the club into. If they go like MD (Leckhampton) did (which I was told was a trigger for him putting the club up for sale), then it will be further collapse of the house of cards and potentially even more of a sign that the end is nigh for him here. All about tightening that vice grip IMO.

This isn't small time Ron Martin trying to borrow a couple of million with his destroyed financial and business reputation and his fried credit lines. This is a company whose parent is a worldwide venture capitalist and private equity investment firm. They have access to funds and a reputation that the rat could only ever dream of. They invest in risky/depressed businesses with high growth potential and seem to be successful in achieving that growth and increasing value in businesses much more often than not.

I know we've been burned by Martin, but not every "borrowing" situation is equal and we shouldn't always wince at the mere mention of it just because Martin has shown that he can't do it properly.

yeah this - Ron's a **** businessman and his empire is finally collapsing. Move on old man make way for younger, more astute blood.

The more Ron martins companys get wound up .The more his need topart company with his loss making football club .Hopefully new blood can slowly turn the club around in time .

The longer this drags on the worse, not better the deal may become for Ron Martin, and that is just desserts for the way he has treated good people for some time now. He is under increasing pressure every day and will not want to have to settle the tax bill on July 12th himself. Kimura will want the best price and that may be achieved by it going past that date but overall, even if it means paying a bit more they also want it done earlier to give them a better chance of us having stronger retention and recruitment, more season tickets sold and ultimately a better chance of on field success. We should all be happy that extensive DD is being done, frustrating short term but far better for the mid to long term of our club

As I said, it depends on how risk averse they are. Some players will, some won't. It really all depends on their mindset and their personal situation. Some players with kids might rather get themselves sorted early on a decent contract (even if it's paying slightly less) just to they don't have the worry.

Given that it’s popular opinion that Ron wants this done quickly, any ITKs aware of a length of time granted for the period of exclusivity? It seems to me that IF there is a plan B, Ron would want them to have time to do DD by July 12 if kimura get cold feet.

Looks like clubs in the NL like Oldham are back for pre-season training on 26th June (so week and a half away) with friendlies starting around 8th July. Sorry if I've missed it where are we at?

Do you know what? It didn't even occur to me that pre-season training would be starting soon. Maybe it was the late finish to the PL and Champions League, etc. this season that has led to me not realising how long lower league players have been on their summer breaks.

Last season's pre-season friendlies were announced on 1st June (so already some way behind on that), and the squad returned for pre-season training on 29th June. If they're aiming for the same this season then that's 2 weeks away. As you say, a week and a half if they start at the beginning of the week.

Another reason why those involved in this sale will want it done quickly, I'm sure.
