If only Jim Worsdale was still with us…
Let's also remember the wonderful Southend Standard reporter Alf Smirk, Such a lovely, man, I had the pleasure of travelling quite often with Alf towards the end of the 1960's and early 70's. Back then when travelling to many of the away matches especially of any distance we would be lucky to get 10/20 supporters going. Then the long journey back from such places as Darlington, Hartlepool and Workington I would join Alf in the buffet car for the duration back to London and although I was a non-drinker it was always lovely to be there as Alf knew so many like minded people from the press and former players and just being able to listen to all their wonderful stories was a joy for me as a 19 year old.:LoyalSupporter:

I would never doubt young Lee. He wouldn't post such a bullish thing if it wasn't what he'd been told.

My understanding is the Aussies were the front runners but things change very quickly, like we saw with the Kimura offer.

Can you explain please why you think that it would be a good option?
An administrator would be appointed to manage the sale of assets, which would cut Ron out of a lot of decision making.

It could be good for the club and be terrible for Ron so he will make sure it won’t happen. However the administrator will attempt for the best price , which could bring someone like Ron back into the mix as an owner

Don’t know if this could happen but what if Ron puts club into administration and if it gets sold to the fabled consortium, he’s then gonna start charging them rent to play at roots hall is he not ? So he wins again :(

Anyone else just a bit numb now?
I flip between not caring at all and caring too much. More often recently I've been caring very little at all.

It either happens or it doesn't. My patience for anything in between these two outcomes is seriously waning.

That said fair play to those who continue to feed information, I just don't let it affect me in either direction anymore.

I think that’s sensible. If Ron wants to sell - sounds like he has two options to choose from and so he get on with it when he can’t milk anymore. If he doesn’t want to sell - us worrying or not sleeping won’t make much difference.

That said - It’s really hard not to have a sinking feeling with bad rumours and a buzz with good rumours
