At this point administration would probably be a good option
Let's also remember the wonderful Southend Standard reporter Alf Smirk, Such a lovely, man, I had the pleasure of travelling quite often with Alf towards the end of the 1960's and early 70's. Back then when travelling to many of the away matches especially of any distance we would be lucky to get 10/20 supporters going. Then the long journey back from such places as Darlington, Hartlepool and Workington I would join Alf in the buffet car for the duration back to London and although I was a non-drinker it was always lovely to be there as Alf knew so many like minded people from the press and former players and just being able to listen to all their wonderful stories was a joy for me as a 19 year old.If only Jim Worsdale was still with us…
Can you explain please why you think that it would be a good option? At this point administration would probably be a good option
An administrator would be appointed to manage the sale of assets, which would cut Ron out of a lot of decision making. Can you explain please why you think that it would be a good option?
Comfortably Numb.Anyone else just a bit numb now?
As already explained but I doubt very much an administrator would sell back to RonCan you explain please why you think that it would be a good option?
I wonder what Steve Nash is up to?
If it's get put into admin then he would probably lose the ground I would thinkDon’t know if this could happen but what if Ron puts club into administration and if it gets sold to the fabled consortium, he’s then gonna start charging them rent to play at roots hall is he not ? So he wins again :(
Why ? The club don’t own the ground do they ?If it's get put into admin then he would probably lose the ground I would think
I flip between not caring at all and caring too much. More often recently I've been caring very little at all.Anyone else just a bit numb now?
I think that’s sensible. If Ron wants to sell - sounds like he has two options to choose from and so he get on with it when he can’t milk anymore. If he doesn’t want to sell - us worrying or not sleeping won’t make much difference.I flip between not caring at all and caring too much. More often recently I've been caring very little at all.
It either happens or it doesn't. My patience for anything in between these two outcomes is seriously waning.
That said fair play to those who continue to feed information, I just don't let it affect me in either direction anymore.
Compositor? Yes I thought you were that typeJim was editor of the Southend Star 1963/4 the forerunner to the Evening Echo. Part of the Nore Press where I was an apprentice compositor. Premises were in Sutton Road, next to the old Grainger Road Stadium.
I doubt anyone is lying, just quoting their sources. We all know who the biggest proven liar is.So whos lying then?
