when i was young police used to take me to the police station give me ice cream ,call my parents and say laughing boy is here can you please come and pick him up.

Went Hamstel Road and SHSB with Dave Gosling. He is 77 years young, as am I.
And you're not wrong @westie, my bad! Original post corrected, he retired at 65, some 12 years ago. Good job he isn't a Shrimper as he would be unimpressed with my maths! (sorry Dave).

Firstly, Cricko, I apologise for my sons (Medway Blue), astonishing disrespect for such an elder statesman as yourself. He is just as bad with me, so I can only put it down to age. Ours not his.
Now, out on a limb. I heard a rumour yesterday, the source of which I cannot under any circumstances reveal. It goes like this.
The upcoming new owners and here, it came across that there are two or two groups of them, are buying the “whole lot”, meaning RH and the land where the new stadium is supposed to be built. They will split themselves into two, or two groups and one will be responsible for SUFC and RH, whilst the other is responsible for building the new stadium, with the larger capacity or more, detached from any housing but with a hotel at one corner. Permission for regular live concert use will be sought and some sort of tie up with Southend Airport to handle incoming flights and passengers for major events.
I will not reveal my source, so don’t bother asking and although they have ties, I couldn’t say whether I believe the info. Only that I hope they are right.
Also, I haven’t even told this one to Medway Blue and he’s going to thump me for that.

Well, there is definitely going to be a tie up between us and Southend Airport, I know that. We were supposed to do our kit launch with the airport, I’m not sure why that didn’t happen in the end.

The Airport put out a dreadful good luck video to us ahead of the Oldham game, which came off the back of the amount of stick they got for the video ahead of West Ham’s conference final.

But, moving forward, and potentially it’s to do with new ownership or might be something our commercial department are doing, but don’t be surprised to see this part of that “rumour” become a reality.

That really sounds too good to be true but 🤞

New ground The EasyJet arena. Would we fly up the league, home kit changed to orange and white?

I’d like to remind any potential new ownership of our looming deadline. All ideas and commercial tie ins are lovely. But for the love of Sleazyjet and Michael O’Bleary, get it feck’n done soon please before we all lose the plot AND our club.

Paying extra to sIt next to Friends or family will be a bit of a s**t!

these new rumours do sound promising although I struggle to see how any deal can be ratified this close to the next court date. Unless of course there's been silent progress.
That's my issue too - at the last two court hearings Ron has said the club will either be sold by the next one or he'll pay the HMRC debt himself.

Last time he got an adjournment because of the need for the fit and proper person test at the FA.

I can't see the judge being too impressed with him spinning the same old yarn for a third time, neither can I see him dipping into Mezcal's offshore account to pay the tax.

The timing clock on the front page shows how perilously close we are now and, although from time to time we hear positive rumours, we're not actually seeing anything tangible.

At this stage I can only see a 10 point deduction coming our way due to non-payment of taxes. Sadly, I don't think Ron could care less about this.
