SUFC closing in on League 1 striker

Scott McGleish, Michael Bridges, Gary Alexander & Owusu would'nt cut out for Championship, they are not the back up striker Tilson needed.

Wouldnt want any Orient or Col U rejects or anyone who has just been promoted to League 1. Abbot or Akifenwa would be my preferred choices, ah the agony of waiting till the end of the week.

But Murkey in your first post you said Sharp or Brooker- like Cilla would say in Blind Date its make your mind up time!

Tilson says a hes a front runner from a club in league one, surely this cant be harrold? I think hes got more to give and will learn more with us, would be a good third striker, but ofcourse theres many better strikers out there.

I hoped someone would get the reference, but it was more to do with Murkey's mangled syntax than anything else!

Pawel Abbott could be a likely signing.  Just had a look at Huddersfield's rivals board and although it seems Barnsely are sniffing around, I reckon Tilly/Brush/Ron could weave their magic and bring him to Roots Hall.  IMO he would be a fantastic addition.  Click on the Rivals link for more info/gossip:Huddersfield Rivals Board

Last season he managed to knock in 26 league goals, and this season has seen him bag 12 goals from 27 appearences.  Stats and info from Huddersfield's O/S: Pawel Abbott

It seems that Pawel and Jackson have had a falling out and as Beckett has recently signed, Jackson may be willing to sell.  Pawel has 1 year left on his current contract.

Pawel has stated on the O/S that he is keen to fight for his place etc., but often that doesn't mean much and the lure of Championship football could be too much.

This one looks likely

But probably won't happen!!!!!!

Scott McGleish
Michael Bridges
Gary Alexander

Andy Kirk? I doubt it.
Would be happy with him.

Could be a good shout. With Colin Calderwood and Josh Low jumping ship already, I could see him being keen for a move.

I think he'd be a good signing too.
