It took him leaving the area (Hereford / Scunthorpe) for him to get his head down and work on his game

Heard today Gillingham have got there short list down to 3 with Tilly being one of them

He is one of three being interviewed for a second time (today I think). Paul Ince and Lee Clarke are the other two. That comes from a source as good as it gets.

Why is that then? You could say he (Clark) spent lots at Huddersfield, had one of the most sought after strikers and still did not manage to improve on their play-off position each season.

How will he manage at Gillingham with a much smaller budget and (I suspect) little to spend ....... whilst Tilson and (to some extent) Ince have had more experience of making a silk purse from a sow's ear .........

Because the perception of Clark was that he'd done an impressive job at Huddersfield and he seems to have been linked with decent sized jobs since then. He's supposedly a front-runner for the Birmingham job.

I'm inclined to agree that the job he did at Huddersfield wasn't as good as it was sometimes portrayed as having been but I'd still be surprised to see him go to a midtable League Two side.
