Yes he was owed. He agreed for his wages to be deferred so that the players could be paid first. He ended up not being paid for several months and left the club having still not received that money. He then took the Lincoln job.....having not received his money.

I thought (but may be wrong?) that he had, at least, received some of what was owed before he left? Not saying that makes it alright but factually there I think you may be wrong.

However why do clubs usually go for managers who've failed elsewhere?

There are very few managers who havent failed or been sacked at some point....

I think it's only fair to add Collymore in as a big factor there, not just Fry.

Tilson is apparently 2nd favourite for the job from what I've heard, behind Lee Clark.

After what he did for us and the way he was treated I am happy to see him get any job.

Obviously Col U would be a stinker if he were to get that job, but I personally would like to see him back in football and wouldnt begrudge him a fresh start anywhere.

Sure he's also form part of the management team. Scott Lindsay played for Gillingham though and also with Tilly at Canvey so it could have some legs I guess.
