As I understood it, the plan was for the main stand to have a hotel at the back of it and so whoever owned it would be receiving the rental income from that. I further understood that Ron was keeping that one for himself and his family as that would provide his legacy. That's why I think it will be built as soon as possible.

But isn't Ron looking for a hotel to build it themselves thus not having to pay for it himself? If so i would imagine the rental income would be a big fat zero, because if the hotel company has to pay to build it then i would have thought they would be pretty peeved to then have to pay rent as well.

This plan is being used for a new Hotel at a Hospital and the hotel chain are more than happy with the arrangement so I am lead to believe.

I suspect the Council may want the timescales of the TCC payments changed and brought forward a bit. To have the majority of it linked to the completion of the retail arm and 4th stand is risky from their point of view. They may also want further clarification on where the finances are coming from to complete the full project and a more tight timescale for completion. All these things they clearly mention in the Directors report I posted earlier in the thread.

I am expecting a deferral. I would be shocked if they were passed today, after reading said report. But then again they are just the thoughts of one man. A cluster of councillors will be voting today (no doubt with the elections and the sight of 30,000 at Wembley fresh in their memory) so anything can happen.

It says they asked if he could prove the viability of the whole project but we couldnt do it in time. Not exactly reassuring if he cant demonstrate quickly that the project is fnanced.

I would love if they could put guarantees in to ensure the stadium is completed, not sure if thats even in their remit though.

I can see them wanting some sort of guarantee. I can't find the list of the payment scaled times atm but if they do not have something concrete, then they are just going to have to take RM's word that it will all be finished. I just can't see that being acceptable to them. We shall see I guess this afternoon.

Well quite. I don't know how much notice the councillors will take of the directors report. But If I were a councillor with zero ties to the football club, I would look at it and think I would want more info on:

1) The whole financing package, is it viable?
2) Can we get the TCC brought forward and linked to the 3 sided development?
3) Can we get some sort of assurances that the retail arm and 4th stand will be completed and when?
4) Is there a contingency plan, if so what?
5) Is there an interested investor for the 4th stand. If so who and how concrete is this?
6) Are there any retailers signed up to take a unit, if so who and how many?

They would be a few questions off the top of my head If I were involved today. Perhaps it is just me as an inquisitive fan. But to me reading that report, there are more negatives and un-answered questions to be able to give a firm "Yes" to the plans today.

The thing is conditions can be applied and I am sure they most definitely will be, but is it in any ones interest to delay the decision any more.
This will be a interesting afternoon, is any one going along or is it a closed session?

Hope there aren't any day trippers going.

Yes me and any member of the public can go.

I can see them getting guarantees of when and how the 3.5 million will be paid but Id like to see if they could put guarantees in that the ground is completed with 4 sides etc. Cant see how that is actually feasible though.

We shall see this afternoon I guess.
