Some more pics showing covers under snow.

I really don't see this going ahead, there's simply not a long enough break in the bad weather and the stands themselves will have loads of snow gusted into them too.

Nope can't see it being on. We won't have enough room around the edge of the pitch to dump all the snow, even if they could get enough people to help move it all. It's not going to melt as the forecast temperatures on Saturday are a bit lower now.

That was the plan in 79, in the week leading up to the Liverpool F.A. Cup game. It had snowed considerably during the week, causing our NYD game v Watford to be postponed.
They kept the snow on until the day before the game ( Fri), removed it and guess what the pitch was frozen solid!.
And back then we didn't have the wind chill we've had this week.
The health and safety lot would of had a field day that game with all that ice on the South Bank .:winking:

It should be called off now, there is noway it can be played, the weather forcast for the next 48 is Siberian.

Whilst I understand the logic I personally would leave it until late tomorrow or first thing on Saturday if is inevitably going to be off to at least stop there fan's making an unnecessary journey.

As long as it is not dangerous for the player's I would really like this to go ahead while we are in form and it is not as if we need to be concerned about making the pitch any worse.

Still mindful off calling the Liverpool home game off quite early in 79 only for the Saturday to be

I think the surrounding streets and safety for supporters is paramount. They will look at that first..The streets are not going to improve by Saturday.

Unless you are Torvill and Dean I just don't see it happening.

Unfortunately, most us are more Todd Carty than Torvill and Dean

call it off now for heavens sake, stop titting around, the roads and paths to the ground are dangerous and why risk anything

we can get this played in a few weeks time when everything is better weather wise

lose it and we will blame the snow ....wait and it could be the win that pushs us in to the play-offs......you never know
