Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

One massive thing the club need to do is try to arrange a home friendly against a big team every summer. This would bring much needed income in. Look at Walsall - villa took 4K fans there and villa let Walsall keep the proceeds. From memory the newcastle, West Ham games etc often get a decent crowd and getting a game against a team we wouldn’t usually play
Any London Premiership team, but West Ham.

Agree but as a NL side London Pram and Championship sides likely will just send their U23s...if fact they do. Probably a local L1 team would be as high as we go and be able to not have to bill it as u23 an XI

The only thing the trust do is suck up to Ron. For years the guy has destroyed the club and the trust have just sat back and not done anything. They only agreed to support the last protests because every other group was supporting it so they felt they had to but then none of the main board members bothered attending on the day.
The main board members of the trust need removing so we can finally get a trust that will fight against our crook of an owner but that won’t happen as the trust are too tight and always ensures that the main board members stay in charge
What a crock of ****e. Any Trust member can stand as a committee member and committee members are voted for at the AGM. The committee has always had a broad membership and views

Just to put this to bed. We and The Trust have an excellent relationship, it my not have always been that way but it is now. We help them whenever we can and long may that continue.
Yes, we do John, but you can understand the scepticism of some of our Board. You know also that I have tried to maintain communication throughout, with fair and reasoned posting.

Problem is that most of the top 10 prem sides all go and play most of their friendlies in Asia or USA. Not sure what the attraction is for lets say Spurs or Chelsea to come here with a full team.. You can forget big European sides, i think some of them charge £100k plus to play a friendly against small teams like us. Maybe when we have the new ground we could get a decent first fixture against a Europa league type side.

And there we go, a perfect example of the issues.

You are confusing the Trust with SOS.

It seems a very reasonable entitlement to know whether your club is under an embargo, possibly lose points , and have a significant impact on your clubs prospects
one day the board will have to wake up to this
We have had many embargos sadly .But how many points have we been deducted because of them .I stongly beleve its NIL to date .

How has this turned into a Trust bashing thingy? I'm not a member of the Trust, and never have been. But as an observer, they do some absolutely brilliant things for the club. They are always putting their hands in their pockets, and giving up their time. During those zoom meetings, they didn't hold back on Ron, and asked some straight and awkward questions. He did the politician answers of truths, half truths and deflection. What can you do if you don't get straight answers? The straight answers came from Stan. Their motto is to help, not to hinder, still I think? and that sums them up. They're like Chris Phillips of the Echo, they want to know the ins and outs of the football club, but they don't want Ron to throw his toys out of the pram, and ban them, and break all communications.

Just on the financial side there is a full list of 'donations' made to the Club and Local/National Charities since 2005 on our Website here.
We have donated funds for Gym equipment several times over the years, including last season.
Current total of monies donated is over £230k

Newsletters are sent out on a regular basis to all members.
You do not have to justify yourselves every time, there is a dig at you guys and gals

Simple way if want more involvement/knowledge join the committee and see how much "own" time is used for little reward and much abuse
The Trust does a good job and No I am not on the committee, just tired of people thinking its all Secret Squirrel stuff, when in fact its people giving up family time to try and keep the good name of the club a float in choppy waters

Are you, or have you ever been a Trust member? I'm interested as you have a pretty jaundiced view about them. Surely if you feel that strongly then express your views from the inside. Of course you may have done that, hence my question.
No I’m not, I have been invited on several occasions to join but refuse to while the current board run the trust. I know quite a few fans, who are well respected amongst the fans who have been members of the trust but left as for the reasons stated in my previous post. If a different committee run the trust who are willing to fight for the fans and the club then I would be happy to join,

I'm not for a moment telling you what to do, but surely the best way to influence an organisation is from within? Otherwise how would you know what is good or bad without your own personal experiences. My best mate is a screaming Tory and I'm not. He's forever telling me how great the PM was and he got that right didn't he (not).

I’m sorry, but how exactly am I confusing the trust with SOS?

Because the aims you seem to suggest we have are pretty much the aims of the SOS group. We have always preferred to work with Ron, rather than against, and that does include challenging him on his actions and words.

He's going nowhere at the moment so far better to have open channels of communication.
