Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

Out of interest - simply because I have looked and am finding it extremely difficult to find anything - is there any where I can see the list of achievements that the trust have achieved with/against the club? I think it would be good for their to possibly be a thread where they update each of their achievements so all fans can see. If there is already one can someone point me in the right direction please
There was one once. I believe we're about 12-0 up on HMRC.

Short answer, no, I don't think so. We provide Minutes of our own Board and Liaison Meetings, and newsletters regularly to our members. I'm not sure any of us have time to go trawling through all of those archives to produce a list such as you suggest. Besides which, some of the things we do achieve come under the confidential side of things and wouldn't be able to be announced as such.

Of course, there's a lot of material stuff like sponsorship over 5 years for the mini bus as well as sponsorship of the youth team. Consistently fighting to get better prominence for the Junior Blues. Having the biggest ex-players association in the country etc etc.

Thanks for the response. It would be good to have more of a presence on here saying what has been achieved as there is a wide variety of fans here. For example I didn’t even know there were newsletters etc so a lot of fans are probably missing out on key/useful information if they are not members.

The sponsor I spoke to won’t be leaving. He wants his companies name out there and has chose a good part of the ground. He could have had a whole stand in his name but didn’t want to go to that level.

He has paid in full already and unlike some of you will look forward to the games and taking his guests. I did suggest he moves to better seats than the ones he chose.

If people really want to know what’s happening why don’t they do the same and spend some money, rather than constantly moan and have digs at those who dont.

The fact is your handful of games or even season card does not and never will entitle you to to all the answers you demand. Beside most of them are answered time and time again on various threads but you choose to ignore them because it doesn’t suit your agenda.
This just makes you look like a snob

Was it the Wickford Balti Lord?

All the more reason to join!

We used to advertise our fund raising events on here and the Zone used to regularly have teams come along to our Quiz Nights and sometimes to our curry nights.

Then things changed, a few years ago the Trust got such continued ear bashing on here, being blamed for everything and criticised for "not asking the difficult questions", that there is a reluctance to post. Our Trust posts were hidden, our travel posts banned, it seemed as if we were censored at every turn.

Things have improved, but you can understand the reluctance of some of our Board members to contribute here. @Westcliff Shrimper @jphfitz and I try to do our best for you all.

I hope this light shedding information won't be appearing too soon. The truth can often be quite mundane and boring. Wild speculation is much more enjoyable and, with luck, we will be allowed to wallow in it for as long as possible.
It certainly gets priority om here over the football :-)

I certainly encourage everyone to join. My only contribution is membership but the newsletters keep us updated. It would be great if the trust could communicate through the Zone as it would drive visibility and membership further.

Its a shame that there are also a few that will always be negative about everything, and a shame if concern about that is preventing the Trust using the Zone to its full extent. Sad indeed. I don't know if a pinned thread could be opened with comments turned off just to share information?

Conversely, when the Trust was running a membership campaign during the last Ron Out episode, the Zone was probably it's biggest supporter helping many Zone members to see and then join the Trust and many contributed to the Trust fund. So I would suggest that there is far more support and good will for the Trust on here than there is dissent from the few regular moaners.

Lots to disagree with here and I don’t have time on all points but one thing I want to be very clear on…WE do not owe Ron a penny. Ron has set his businesses up so the entity that owns the club owes him back what he has invested. Ron spent that money, not the fans. He hired and fired the managers. He gave them the budget that they demanded. This is not on us. All we ever wanted was a competitive side and a stable side. This nonsense that somehow he has done is a favour and now WE owe him…seriously that type of nonsense leaves me furious.
Probably even more so as in fact it is true (and it makes no-one happy). What you are passionately arguing is that Ron shouldn't have been putting in the £1m/£2m a year to plug the hole and shouldn't have done so expecting it back. And if he had run the club properly the hole would have been smaller. We should have cut our cloth a long time ago but nearly all football clubs lose money and will do in good part until the points made by Rigsby are addressed.

The exit is the new stadium, our get out free card and it can't come soon enough. These finance threads have listed this subject many times - probably someone has a link to the right one, but it also ends up in the same place.

No one on here claims he has done us a favour. Equally no one on here invaded Wembley during the play off final or unfurled Ron out banner during our victory parade.

All of us want success and wins etc. Most of us agreed with the protest and gave our support. I didn’t agree with pitch invasions during the game. Nor am i stupid enough to think a phoenix club is the answer.

The debt owed to Ron has been done to death on here and as it stands he has never collected. He has stated to many people including myself…. He will write off the debt when the stadium is built. For those that dont believe him him it fair enough…. Time will tell

Either way the stadium still has to be built and there is absolutely nothing we can do if he does demand his debt because it makes no difference….. If you buy any business and had to pay the debt you would pay less. So by Ron cancelling debt he gets a bigger pay day from the stadium.

Don’t take this as a dig at you personally. Have a good day the breeze is picking up and i’m off to meet a fellow Shrimper who works for the club….. I guess i’ll have to pay the bill if he has no money😎

Kay did the Trust not contribute to some of the gym equipment.

Just on the financial side there is a full list of 'donations' made to the Club and Local/National Charities since 2005 on our Website here.
We have donated funds for Gym equipment several times over the years, including last season.
Current total of monies donated is over £230k

Newsletters are sent out on a regular basis to all members.

The only thing the trust do is suck up to Ron. For years the guy has destroyed the club and the trust have just sat back and not done anything. They only agreed to support the last protests because every other group was supporting it so they felt they had to but then none of the main board members bothered attending on the day.
The main board members of the trust need removing so we can finally get a trust that will fight against our crook of an owner but that won’t happen as the trust are too tight and always ensures that the main board members stay in charge

One massive thing the club need to do is try to arrange a home friendly against a big team every summer. This would bring much needed income in. Look at Walsall - villa took 4K fans there and villa let Walsall keep the proceeds. From memory the newcastle, West Ham games etc often get a decent crowd and getting a game against a team we wouldn’t usually play

Are you, or have you ever been a Trust member? I'm interested as you have a pretty jaundiced view about them. Surely if you feel that strongly then express your views from the inside. Of course you may have done that, hence my question.
