Some Club Staff Salaries Late/Embargo Chat - now resolved (for now)

For what it's worth, I know acquiring qualified therapists for full-time positions can be difficult at the moment. Many have private work which would pay more than a club at our level can offer. As we have an Academy, there are also certain qualification criteria that must be met with expensive courses. Many will work with semi-professional clubs as they can combine the part-time work with their own work.

Of course it doesn't help that our reputation for paying staff, especially non-playing staff, is rather dubious!

Oh dear. That's Paul gone then. Rumours and guesswork as to why, will no doubt include non payment of his wages. But keep in mind, it just might be for some other reason.

I understand he was always only coming in temporarily until the summer. He was never a permanent appointment.

This is without one of our most depressing threads. Plucked from the finance section (the equivalent of applying a can of petrol) and is now the repository for everything negative- let's throw in unsubstantiated "rumours" of a fruit drink to keep it going, or diasatisfied (for good reason) former staff, or rumours we apparently no longer has a physio etc. etc. Why not pin it under the title "Everything that's wrong with the Club" then we can just fill our boots and it can run forever...

Seems to have gone very quiet.

The usual in the know types where providing regular updates to expect signings. Those have now stopped. Suggests things aren't really happening or aren't close at this time.

It's hardly stirring if employees of the club have confirmed they haven't been paid up to date. It's even more of worry for them in the current financial climate.

If you were to tell us that you personally know individuals working at the club who have not been paid, and I asked you to prove it, how would you prove it? While respecting their confidentiality and not landing them in the ****.

Would you not feel that such info, while respecting your contacts' anonymity, is in our interest, as supporters of the club?

Would you not hope that, by bringing this matter to the public forum, these individuals might get paid sooner?

True, as I think June & July is the worst time of the years for paying wages, we need success on the pitch or new stadium that can host wedding/social evening out events 24/7 to bring more money in (like Col Ewes stadium that is used 24/7).

Maybe I am drained from the last 3 seasons of s***, finally an positive feeling toward the new season, that that news just bring it down again to some of us.

At some point there will be information appearing which will shed some light on what is or isn't going on financially at the Club. When that happens this will be the thread that covers it. Of course, people could always chill and wait and see for a while, but judging by some of the stuff appearing on here that doesn't seem likely.

At what point ? We've waited 20 years and we still have no idea how the finances operate under uncle Ron. He doesn't even submit the clubs accounts to Companies House on time, which is a legal requirement

My wife interviewed people for a job at Mothercare in Basildon 24 hours before the company announced that they were going into administration. It's business as usual until the administrators walk in.

I was talking about the immediate situation at RH involving salaries, new players announcements, or lack of them etc. I agree that the underlying stuff is a lost cause.

Tom: Ron we need to have a seperate account for emergency funds in case we need it at any time if cash flow dries up.
Ron: Of ccourse Tom. Ill do that right away.
Tom (some months later): Ron we need to transfer some of the emergency funds or we cant pay some of the back room staff this month

So in the time these rumours have been posted on here about staff not being paid {we still have no evidence of this}
We have signed 5 NEW PLAYERS extended the contracts for other players, appointed a NEW HEAD OF FINANCE and taken on NEW ticket office staff
Oh yes and coughed up 2 MILLION for work to start on a new training pitch which is phase one of the new stadium complex does this sound like a club that has got money problems
