Anyone know if Ronnie is using the Meteorological or Astronomical terminology for "Late Spring" ??

I presume "Astronomical" which gives him about another 2 weeks before "Summer" begins....

Looking forward to seeing the diggers on-site in the next 2 weeks then....

The extend delay was often blamed on 'the banks closing for business' during the financial crisis. That, to a large extent is now over, and 'the banks' are very mch open for business, and lending. So Ron, what on earth is your next excuse? Surely we deserve an update??

The banks being closed for business is a total irrelevance - Sainsburys are paying for the 3 sided stadium. What is an issue is Ron's inability to be able to raise the finance for the construction of the fourth side, the shops and the flats both at Fossets Farm and on Victoria Avenue including the replacement of St. Marys Court.

So, there you go then. Ron hasn't a pot to **** in and needs a large loan from Sainsburys Bank to be able to move forward (realistically).

Failed yet another deadline then...this was from a document submitted to SBC in February 2014.

"Oh Stanley, Stanley................"

When the south was built they installed a secret bunker which has a zillion Sainsbury plastic shopping bags which will be very soon sold for 5p each,This is the war chest !

The new Sainsbury megastore to be built at RH must have vast profit potential that puts the cost of FF etc into the shade. If not why bother? There may not be an earthmover at FF currently but nor does there appear to be one with whoever at Sainsburys is dealing with all of this.

The obstacles at the moment appear to be mere bagatelle in the grand scheme of things and I cant help but feel that the delays we are witnessing serve a purpose somewhere. If Sainsburys are shelling out for the new stadium and want things to get a move on I am sure they would have found a way in their own interests.

For me the delays cannot be causing undue concern to some parties and may even be desired.

This never ending saga...

I knew I'd seen Ron's beautiful long flowing locks somewhere before...

new stadium

So how is the stadium looking, have they got any of the stands in place yet or the pitch area sorted and has the new road been started on........can't wait to take to my new seat in a couple of years time.......good old Ron he is delivering the plan and the promises.

It will be a shame to move out out of Roots Hall.....many fond memories of the ground since 75 for me and I would imagine even more for some of the zone members on here....but the new stadium is under way and they are working on the site as I sit here taping away on the keys of life

I can't find it, but last year I posted a crude estimate of the profits Sainsbury will make based on their annual results and total floor space. But I can't find the post!

Why can't Ron just come out and say what is the current status how can your supporters SUPPORT without knowing what needs SUPPORTING!

I'm a bit of a prophet of doom but I just can't see the new stadium happening.

Nothing that's happened in the last five years regarding it has given me any confidence that a new Stadium will be built but I'm sure the costs keep on mounting.

Now that the football is over for another season and I start reflecting on that ridiculous three sided proposal I'm almost inclined to hope that it all falls through. My only reservation is what will happen to Southend United if it does.

Talk about being between a rock and a hard place.

Yep.

We have a Chairman that appears to not have the finances in place to get the project going or completed. Or has the ability to just walk away for a reasonable sum and let another party get on with it.

Not a great position to be in for him, or our club.

Surely at some point you just have to hold your hands up, admit defeat and cut your losses though?...

Personally I think Ron needs to publicly put the club up for sale and see if some decent investment can be attracted. One, to enable Ron to walk away. Two, to make the club more secure financially. Three to hopefully get a FOUR sided stadium built.

Obviously all the above is difficult to achieve. But without a proper willingness to sell, then it will never happen and we will continue going nowhere but backwards. Especially off the field.

Fresh investment and ideas are needed at the top IMO. We have stagnated.

I think this image pretty much sums the site up at present. In fact for the last thousands of years...

While again all the time we sit back and take the ****

Think you will find I'm being sarcastic........you can call it talking Bollocks, but I didn't stand up tell the Southend Supporters that I was going to build a new stadium........so all the old bollocks is out of RM
