Everybody give it a rest!!!

It is June 5th, players are on holiday. Give it a month for things to become clearer..There is no panic at all. Ron knows what he is doing..There is so much negativity on here about this..lets chill and see what happens, ranting and summising on here is gonna change nothing!!

We're losing our best players and the spine of our team. Nope, nothing to worry about. Crazy that we should actually have a bit of worry on here.

What a load of sh*t. Dont panic? Well fu*k me we don't even have enough players for 5-a-side let alone a squad of decent players!!

Who do these players think they are and what is going on? Fair play to Ron, he is so right not to let the players hold him ransom. They fuc*ed up on promotion and played worse than Concord Rangers in the Play off Semi and now they want massively improved terms? Well how about the whole lot of you jog on. This is outrageous and I cannot believe what is happening here.

No way should blame be placed on Ron, Tilly or Brush. This is a classic example of money hungry players being far to big for their boots. More fool the lot of them for thinking the grass is greener. What a load of C-Units.

All 3 players have given 100% to the club and are perfectly entitled to assess their options, especially if they still have a year left on their contracts. Has Ron offered them all crap deals and is now blaming the players for being disloyal when the truth is we're skint and can't afford to pay them much?

I'm here, although I stand by my comments about player loyalties. I don't think they were necessarily seeking moves away but they certainly don't feel the need to sign new contracts when they still have time to run. I have to say I'm quite pi$$ed off at Francis when he came out a week or so ago and effectively said that a new contract was a certainty. I know it may not necessarily be his fault that negotiations have stalled so I could be being grossly unfair to him.

We don't know the ins and outs of all of this yet but it would appear that Ron and the club have unilaterally transfer listed these players when they refused to sign new contracts. It may just be posturing but good players like Bailey, Francis and Clarke are always going to be in demand from other clubs so it would look as though they may be on the way out if we get a decent offer.

Ultimately this has came as a result of a fairly successful season. If we had a great season then we'd be in the CCC and the players would want to stay (or/and we'd be able to paid more), or if we had a crap season then the players wouldn't be so aggressive in the contract-discussions as there probably wouldn't be the interest in them.

I'm a bit gutted, but realise that Southend will never be a Prem team, we'll have good times and bad times. Thats accepted, therefore on that premise I'd prefer the club to stick to its guns, not over-expend ourselves and keep pride in the shirt. That said, I'm shocked that Bailey is on the list with 2years on his contract still.

I'm not "crying like a baby". I'm simply saying that I'm sorry but it's human nature that we're going to worry slightly when we're facing our entire squad being ripped to shreds. Do you think Ron wants those 3 to leave? Course he doesn't. They're transfer listed due to their contract disputes, not because of their playing ability.

Well do you think that seeing 80% of our team pretty much gone as something to take lightly? Its rubbish. None of them are prolific enough to be holding our chairman to Ransom. Francis especially is a massive shock after coming out last week and then now being transfer listed. Somethings going on.

I defended the players the other day, and stand by my comments at the time.

Players do have the right to get the best they can, what they deserve. BUT if they are not satisfied with that, if we have offered the best we can right now and they demand more, then screw them.

It's early days, alot can still change. Initially i panicked that 3 of our best players might leave, but there are always other players. This club will be here next year even if they are not, and so will we.

Ok fair point. They arent the only three players in the world and I fully appreciate that players can be replaced. No problem there. If we loose even half the players transfer listed along with the ones already released then we are in sh*t creek in regards to expectations of next season.
We will technically be a season behind. The season just gone will count for nothing. Everyone was quite excited about next year what with a successful season behind us yet now the strong, gelled, high spirited sqaud is not in tatters.

Its highgly unlikely that not everyone on the transfer list will go but like I said, if even half of them go then we are going to have to re-build from scratch yet again. This is not good at all!

Well put. I think Ron's double-bluff is a huge mistake and I dont believe for one moment that T&B support this ludicrous decision. So what- we sell all our best players and make some money? Great for the coffers but cant really see anyone decent wanting to join an outfit that treats it players in this way.

We had a fair few new players this year and got in the play-offs.
