SMS Bailey, Clarke and Francis on the list

No player is bigger than the club and if they and their agents feel that way then thanks and see you later.

Based on Gower going this is our first team :(
1. Flahavan
2.
3.
4. McCormack
5. Barrett
6.
7.
8.
9. Barnard
10. Walker
11.

Don't even bank on that. Flavs keeps stalling the offer will be withdrawn. How come Macca hasn't been listed with these? Strange. Whilst will other clubs see this and think right, we go in for say Barnard, get him to kick off a little that a bid has been rejected and we'll be able to get him as Southend will kick him out.

Seems as if Ron is in a bit of a foul mood over what happened at Donny. I'm slightly worried. If they've all demanded pay rises beyond what we think is reasonable (especially as most of them bottled the Play Offs) then full credit, but if not, I'm getting over to the panic side.

Brushy - 6 players? Make that about 12 mate!

is this why we haven't released our pre season games yet as we aren't actually playing any because we can't field enough players.

I bet Tilly aint pleased about this at all- wouldnt be surprised if he seriously considers his own future. Bold, brave move or is Ron trying to grab the headlines again?

in the grand scheme of things they achieved nowt last season, and no-one turned up for the Donny match. If they wanted CCC football and higher wages, they should have achieved the right. They didn't and they should accept that they're where they deserve to be and should accept upper-band L1 wages!

You know what i reckon this stadium is costing more than expected so the team is gonna suffer for a while.

I am absolutely stunned! Cannot believe it!

What on earth is going on?!

From looking like a team that could challenge for the top two next year it seems our main challenge will be fielding a starting line-up!

I am absolutely 100% behind the club on this.

Clarke's a committed defender but hardly proved himself to be better than League One last season. His refusal to sign comes as no surprise after seeing how quickly he departed Blackpool. The tears didn't wash, you might say and I'm not convinced he's going to attract that many suitors and if he does go, I can think of several targets playing League One last season who could more than adequately replace him.

Francis has been good and geting closer to his potential but, as with Clarke, his abilities are exposed in the Champinonship because his occasinonal recklessness gets punished much more frequently. I'd have liked him to stay and hope that he improves further but if he's gone, I think he's replacable.

Bailey is the disappointing one in some respects but I recall saying specifically on here that I could see him moving on at the end of this season if we didn't get promoted. I think he's committed on the pitch but something about him tells me that every club is merely a stepping stone elsewhere - there's no great bond there.

If we lose these three, life will go on but it will be a difficult job replacing them. I suspect we will still have at least one of these on the books by the start of next season. Bailey to Derby wouldn't surprise me at all.

I would hope Tilly has played a part in these discussions and was consulted before hand!!

Very bizarre move indeed. As Shrimpersarmy said, these were the core of players who helped us have a very good season...in fact one of the highest finishes in our history. Replacing them will be very very hard. Had we kept the Doncaster 11 plus a couple of replacements then I was confident of another play off finish at least.....now though it will be a massive task.

Strange goings on really....when you think how ruthlessly Maher was bombed out, at least you could understand it given the trigger incident, and it leaving Tilly with a choice between Maher and the Moose. Similar to Foran's banishing really. To dropping and then getting rid of Black straight after him being a regular all season, listing Hooper after he did everything expected of him on loan, and now these three, we really are being bullish to say the least.

Cant beleive it will help pursuade the likes of Mulgrew to sign on permanently as he watches this unfold from afar...

dont really know what to say, but one question,

they have rejected revised contracts, however surely their old contracts still stand, Bailey has two years left so why transfer list him, why not keep him on the lower contract for next year atleast? or we taking it that these players want out of the club?

They're not old contracts they're the current contracts and of course they still stand.

RM simply wants the option of cashing in on his investments, sorry players, now rather than letting them go more cheaply or even for free later on. The best way to achieve that is to circulate their names.

Good point. Cant see us being able to convince prospective signings that we are going to be competing at the right end of the table.

That's true.

On an individual basis I'm behind the club but getting rid of so many players will mean rebuilding the team again. However, it can't look good to potential transfer targets when we are acting so rashly.

Whilst I agree that we shouldn't be held to ransom, it's worth bearing in mind that we still have to run a football club and if we're not prepared to offer the wages our rivals offer then we're going to have problems.

I can only assume that we have a lot of players lined up and it will be interesting to see how the summer pans out.

Something must be going on... 5 players released, 7 transfer listed and 4 refuse to sign contracts. Thats potentially 13 players going! Add to that Gower whos supposed to be off and Flahaven also if rumours are true, that is 15 players!! Mulgrew not likely to sign now surely. Fair play to the club for sticking to their guns but very worrying time at the moment. Would love to see the atmosphere at training this week.

Well I was not expecting that.

Tilly said the other day Bailey isn't going anywhere and now he's on the transfer-list!

What the hell is going on?

I wouldn't bother taking 2 from the top and 4 from anywhere else based on your arithmetic.
